I watched a friend play FF8 recently and I cross-examined most of Squall's conversation with the original Japanese version, especially ones where he said "Whatever" in English. Needless to say, the English localization perverted people's perception of Squall's character in a way that made come across as more of a cold jerk rather than an insecure teenager with abandonment issues wanting to be left alone, which resulted in unfair hatred towards Squall.

I brought THF for like 2 weeks after the discussion of TH.. but it seemed like a complete waste of time... Now I just go RNG and play a mini game of pretending to be a COR and also tagging as many as I can with bounty shot until we win, usually get 4 of them, maybe 5
