Random Thoughts.....What are you thinking?
Do you guys think the ff9 Remake is real? as in a full True remake
It's the decade of remakes, remasters, do-overs, prequels.
Everything else is (except legend of dragoon..........) So probably. I would love a 8 and 9 remake.
Video games don't seem to get the "gritty reboot" very often. I think FFIX would be a great candidate. Just get Rob Zombie to write the script.
Zidane is out there mugging innocent people, Amarant is an angry drunk, Vivi has PTSD from accidentally burning down an orphanage, Quina eats children, etc. Maybe add a noir-type narrator. ... Or maybe I should stick to my day job and let others make the creative decisions. Lakshmi.Bigtitties said: » I would love a 8 and 9 remake. A lot of the 1-6 is ports+extras+remasters I don't think any count as remakes.
10 is a remaster (Plus dark aeons and balance patches) and 12 is a redesign yay buzzwords Thunderjet said: » Do you guys think the ff9 Remake is real? as in a full True remake Almost everything else on the leak list has been confirmed (still waiting on Gundam Online 2, Bamco!), so FF9 Remake and FFT Remaster both being there means they should be happening, and gives us an idea of what to expect from them. Now, I don't expect it to be as big as 7 Remake. I'd imagine it'll still just be a single game, perhaps two at a push, with less realistic graphics and very little added or expanded on. But it'll still be built from the ground up with different gameplay, etc. Asura.Eiryl said: » A lot of the 1-6 is ports+extras+remasters I don't think any count as remakes. 10 is a remaster (Plus dark aeons and balance patches) and 12 is a redesign yay buzzwords And even VII-R is technically not a remake (despite it being in the name), as it's a sequel. The same basic story happens, but in a different way, it's not a sequel lol it's "the definition" of a remake (reboot is remake+1)

Either way, it should be a little more clear in about a year. It's going to have more and go further, but that's in "addition to"
(time travel, parallel worlds, alternate realities) It's an "extended edition directors cut" but still the original IP Asura.Eiryl said: » It's going to have more and go further, but that's in "addition to" (time travel, parallel worlds, alternate realities) It's an "extended edition directors cut" but still the original IP I know what you're saying and why you're saying it, but I'm sticking to my guns here. Chronologically it's a sequel, and it's going to be more obvious as the story progresses. The only way that happens is if part one/two/three was someone narrating how it happened
And then part four is after holy saved gaia from meteor ..........Or it's VR training set in the aftertimes. Cause VR exists in universe. Asura.Eiryl said: » The only way that happens is if part one/two/three was someone narrating how it happened And then part four is after holy saved gaia from meteor I never thought I'd accuse someone of this, but you're thinking too logically here. You need to frame this in terms of Kingdom Hearts style shenanigans where logic is thrown out the window. Cid used the master magic materia in a fusion of gravity and time to go back and "back to the future" fix everything so the stigmata never happens.
And the ghosts are stopping it from happening. 7R2 has flash forwards and/or prophesi and/or visions. It's exotic but still not sequel. Even if you think time travel is happening.... They're trying to remake the events by time traveling. Even if it takes place afterword. They're trying to remake the events by time traveling. Even if it takes place afterword. The way I see it, if the developers are remaking the original game, it's a remake. If characters within the game are trying to remake the original game, it's a sequel. It's all semantics at that point, though. That's fair, but they would have to retcon basically all of ff7 lore.
Reveal that the original ff7 was a vision and Aerith is trying to adjust it. (or a mako fever dream) The first time Aerith meets Zack she has a vision of FF7, Advent Children, Dirge maybe even most of Crisis Core. She's now snapped out of it and avoiding that future. I tried starting Red Mage on my Bahamut character with no existing characters there and wow was that a mistake. Even with Records of Eminence, Sparks, and things like Fields of Valor that job needs like half a million gil from level 1 thru 50 with spells alone. Not to mention all the skill-ups >_< Most of the time I start Thief. Treasure Hunter is always useful, picking locks is always useful, bolts have so much utility, and Sneak Attack is a ton of fun to play with. I just wish that you could get the Lv.1 crossbow on Thief. Sucks you have to wait until Lv.10, and by then it's hard to catch up Marksmanship Skill... And if I'm starting in Bastok, the Fetichism quest takes forever without Treasure Hunter. In the very beginning I like to start as Monk. You get a stat boosting belt on top of your stat boosting ring(Bastok and Sandy rings are even physically inclined). You don't need to buy a weapon right off, because Hand to Hand is Monk's primary, so you'll get skill right off without having to spend anything or rely on a side weapon to begin. Once you've made a little bit of money, and gotten your sub you can wedge in THF or WAR. Make a bit more money, but also get a feel for spending some. Then you can transition to RDM, because it uses weapons you could use on THF or WAR, so you can focus on the spell craft. Transition from there to BLM or WHM, they all share spells. It's a real beautiful thing about FFXI. Leveling multiple jobs becomes synergistic with just a few exceptions(any job with unique magic/weapons(except BLU cause BLU is easy). Starting as a mage isn't impossible, it's just basically giving yourself hard mode out the gate. I start Thief because it's just so damn convenient:
- It's good for missions that require you to collect things such as the Orcish Axe or Quadav Fetich pieces - It's good for the subjob quest, collecting Bee Pollen - It's good for the chocobo quest, collecting Gausebit Grass - It's good for making money, selling the two above items on the AH for all the people too lazy (or too rich) to do it themselves - It's good for getting around with Flee - It's good for getting around because of those boots with +movement speed on them - It's good for unlocking all your Treasure Coffers - It's good for that Phomiuna Aqueducts mission where you have to open that gate Well, think new server, THF is generally pretty bad for leveling. You'll also never get striders.
Everyone will be war and thf. You never want 2 thfs, you'll take 4 wars lol (and blm is the -only- job at 75 on private servers) Asura.Eiryl said: » Well, think new server, THF is generally pretty bad for leveling. Apparently that job got a boatload of buffs on HorizonXI: Sneak Attack now works with elemental weapon skills, Shadowstitch is now the second Dagger weapon skill, and it gets Triple Attack at level 30. So yeah. If anyone's planning to play that server, go Thief LOL Thunderjet said: » Do you guys think the ff9 Remake is real? as in a full True remake At this point I think it is given what turned out to be true so far. I am struggling to see how they will do it because a radical change will kill a lot of the charm the game had back then. I really hope its not some hack n slash but we'll see. I seeing the dialogue before the fight where the opponent is a human melted with a monster, with its consciousness vanishing in pure beastly instincts.
Then he starts spewing gory curses. At some point it was just hard to read. Totally unnecessary |
