Just potato quality from 14 years ago. Need to carry ffxi future on my back, what a burden :,( My 1080p not enough and my commentary stupid huh? sadge lol i did watch it, it was good. I just want one clean that I can show for my next project I wanna do. If Jessie were a KOTOR character, she'd be like Canderous. Hazy early red dark side signs, but ultimately great at heart.

Drop 3 projects on my desk on Friday, tell me they all need to be done "early next week" and then - oops - training on the new software starts Tuesday, and we gotta do the online course before the training starts. So gotta get all that done Monday! After all was said and done, I got two things done, but then got one more "immediate priority" item put on my desk, so I'm done 2/5 of what I was hoping to have done by the end of the day today. Tomorrow morning I'll have to do the online learning course and just pray it doesn't take more than a few hours to do. x_x I wonder what old merit ground gets converted into Locus mobs next hmmm
MOON
On another note, the BG Wiki guide for DRG is like, "There's no need to quest Impulse Drive. A weapon will give it to you later."
*side eyes the 5706 Impulse Drive I just did to an Abraxas* Yeah uhh... totally just gonna wait to till item level Su2 to get Impulse Drive. Yep. Mmmhmmm Asura.Vyre said: » On another note, the BG Wiki guide for DRG is like, "There's no need to quest Impulse Drive. A weapon will give it to you later." EDIT: I guess it makes sense to at least mention that. Though I'd probably word it to sound more "This is an option" and less "You are encouraged to just skip it" lol EDIT again: It's such a cool weapon skill, too. Polearms have some of my favourite-looking weapon skills in the entire game. Don't know why I never really stuck with Dragoon. Valefor.Prothescar said: » MOON Came in handy for dex sword trials back in the day :smilers:
I've known for a while that I gravitate towards jobs with a lot of utility. Blue Mage can replicate nearly every buff and debuff in the game, so it's clear why that's my all-time favourite.
But when I really sit down and think about it, I definitely could enjoy Dragoon for a similar reason. Dragoon can heal, remove status ailments, manipulate enmity, inflict a defense-down debuff, stun, and even cleave. For a job that I've been dismissing as damage-dealer, it's pretty varied. I might need to play around with it more. Specialists are more optimal than generalists.
When the game is entirely zealots, good at everything means best at nothing. I did like dragoon but with the global delay, mobs moving, constant debuffs and fast tp gain it feels really clunky to me compared to blue mage when you want to do a lot of those hybrid things

So many people doing the same ideas, the same voice even (so many commentators copying donkeyy voice)
People all doing the same Pokemon speed runs or let's play or solo challenges. The same unboxings... same sponsored ads. Every month a new "retrospective" pops up on resident Evil or Pokemon or anything popular like we haven't heard it a billion times. Top 10 things you didn't know about this insanely popular franchise that have been repeated a billion times and you would have to live under a rock to not have known it. Sometimes getting older sucks I guess lol Whatever makes money is copied by everyone who wants to make money.
Ain't capitalism amazing. Really rewarding that innovation.
Sometimes it's gets to be too much if you think too deeply about it. How sad but I guess it's always been like that maybe. I can see why people do detoxes from all social media, I have just been rolling my eyes a lot because it keeps coming up all the time lol. Everyone copying the next person to be viral how exhausting.
I feel like I've said some version of "it's exhausting" every day for the last 5 years.

FFXI is loose as hell, and there are a lot of ways to tailor yourself to a party. I remember back when I was leveling Blue Mage. While everyone else was out there acting like a wannabe Warrior with /NIN and a trait-heavy build, I found great success in subbing /BLM for Conserve MP and setting the Clear Mind trait, using my spells at such frequency that I didn't have time for the white damage boost from Dual Wield anyway. I was practically soloing VT mobs with the alternating Head Butt + Bludgeon combo, and able to continue chains for a long time thanks to /BLM. In fact, that might be one of my favourite things about Blue Mage is how easy it is to adjust its play-style to fill in gaps in a party. Short on healing? Set a good healing spell. Short on buffs or debuffs? Set some of those. In FFXI, "optimal" tends to be a pretty fuzzy word. For the most part it just means "This is what I read in a guide". I'm not open to criticism if the critic has no idea why they're critical. Asura.Vyre said: » Wordspoken said: » Asura.Vyre said: » I loved Three Houses. I played the absolute ***out of it. Got Maddening playthroughs done on Crimson Flower and Azure Moon. (Neither had NG+ bonuses to characters, though CF did have professor rank from NG+). I basically played it till I got sick of it. The only real downside it has is that the map design is kinda meh. But why design super specific/awesome maps, when you can just circumvent them with your whole squad as Wyvern Lords? hehe. Crimson Flower's final maps were a bit infuriating on Maddening. Azure Moon's wasn't quite as bad, but the difference was I'd done AM on Hard before as my first playthrough. I'd never done Crimson Flower before, so that was probably me being totally blind. Even so, I lost Felix and Sylvain in the final map of Azure Moon Lunatic. I don't really do Ironmans or challenge runs, but I couldn't find a way to win without losing anyone heh. It was rough. Dedue is my favorite character in 3 Houses, and I'm perturbed that I can't get him in non-Blue Lion routes. Then again, I'm also perturbed that Dimitri and Claude never do a proper team up post timeskip so.... Made it past lvl10, I think I can somehow steamroll to timeskip, first map of timeskip is going to be the benchmark, I believe. Good old Dedue, my first playthrough was Azure Moon. There's so much story plotpoints going on, but then again it kinda means you can find your favorites? Hmm I kinda like all characters (except hubert), but maybe Bernadetta is my favorite? Might have started another campaign playthrough on the side as male Byleth just to S-rank her. Why does windows ALWAYS do a god damn update after FFXI updates.
Check for updates, get everything caught up every time XI updates. Blow it out. Power cycle. Start fresh. The next day there's a windows restart needed. Every time! I'm sure there were hundreds of Beethoven knockoff composers who were trash, but again, 200 years between us and them, and no one remembers. Same thing (hopefully) will get said 50 years from now, when about 2 of those Christmas movies made between 1990 and 2020 survive like "Its a Wonderful Life" has lasted....if that many. I'm not open to criticism if the critic has no idea why they're critical. Every job in FFXI brings something unique to the table. Whether it's just one weaponskill, one spell, one JA, or one gearset. There's always some highly specific leverage that will make a certain job the de facto best candidate for situation X. Jack of all trades or specialist hardly matters. The idea behind the Jack jobs being, "They won't be the best in many situations, but they'll be better than about 15 other jobs in most situations." Couple of really small examples from Ye level 75 content at level 75: Dark Knight is clearly my strongest damage dealer. I have an augmented Suzaku's Scythe with 9 more base damage than Apocalypse and +2% haste augment. I've hit Sky gods on it for 5-7k damage WSes. It has Souleater, Last Resort, and then any other damage buffs I want from whatever subjob I choose. Dragoon out performs it on the Abraxas camp in Lufaise Meadows, because they resist slashing damage and are weak to piercing. Since Dragoon sacrifices no durability for its damage output, it's hardly ever in danger. My DRG has no super augmented weapon, since none exist to my knowledge for it at 75. DRK has far more tools to increase its damage, but because of a singular trait that these monsters have, and DRK's downsides, I'll take DRG to that camp every time over it. Then for the actual Jack vs. Specialist - Nyzul Isle. There is no specialist job I can take there, except perhaps Puppetmaster, to see the same results as taking RDM (at 75). When the situation is, "Random Floors Objectives with bosses that could be anything" every single specialist flails against it in vain. The difference is so stark that I've cleared Nyzul completely on RDM solo at 75. Whereas any of the specialist jobs might not even clear a single floor. Gotta say disappointed in the internet blowin ***outta proportion again.
Wednesday spoilers Man, I was just reading the May 2019 era changes to Esuna and Sacrifice and I forgot how absolutely bat ***dumb it was of S-E to do that, lol.
And all the hell it brought loose too. |
