hence the question, there is the option, have you EVER used it.
Of course not.
Have you ever even thought about what it would be like if you did?
Of course not.
But, sure, while that specifically is a waste of time and resources, you should be able to set your own level to any cap at any time, if you want to. You shouldn't need a second person to sync and it should be any level at any time (under your current, of course)
((but of course someone would bring up well you can instantly set your level to 1 and lose no exp when you die tho! and I mean really. As if that means something.))

Just to play Devil's Advocate, let's say they hypothetically remastered FFXI. Would we be happier if they kinda trimmed some of the fat from Chains of Promathia, but included level caps on the fights again (with Trusts)?
I feel as though a lot of people have been giving CoP a lot of crap lately because it's just a bunch of busywork, yet is required for certain content. But if instead of being busywork, the game's storylines were brought to the forefront of the game. Make it so the challenge is part of the fun, rather than an obstacle to get to the fun.
As a WHM, I took in a drk and rng and ran them into the ground in PVP. I'm not saying I could redo it today though. Staff WHM with Spirit Taker means you are basically undestroyable in PVP.

Big brag over.
My only two experiences with PvP were oddly both as White Mage as well. Once on my Tarutaru (before I made Jessie) and once on Jessie. I remember being unkillable as Jessie, even narrowly avoiding a KO by running backwards through my pursuer once XD
I've always admired Ballista and Brenner. If I didn't have crushing anxiety about PvP, I probably would have tried it out more when it was popular. Or make a new alt on Asura so I could play with the folks who still do. Something about how uniquely "FFXI" it feels, making it more about the sport and less about running around slaughtering other players.

I never thought I'd say it but I miss Urteil's posts. He had a passion for something that few people still possess in the XI community.

What ever happened to Urteil after his bounty was collected by that RDM? Or no one actually knows?
And speaking of combat, we're eager to bring you new reforging of empyrean equipment and further increases to the master level cap—a feature which we know has won the hearts of many players.
We're also laying the groundwork for new storage systems debuting this fiscal year. Hopefully this will help solve your inventory woes.
Well, I guess that assures me that FFXI at least won't be killed off on its 20th Anniversary lol
Have to go back and find the first official mention of empyrean+3 and see just how long they've dangled that carrot.
It's of no consequence to me, seeing as how I don't even play at a high enough level to acquire it anyway. Let 'em dangle. It just means they're still making plans for the game's future.
Eh I don't mind people sharing personal stuff on here. A lot of times it's good just to get it off your chest, even if it's just shouting into the void of the internet. And technically it's on topic because it's a random thought you're having.
Part of the reason why I was always moaning about the XIV-thumpers on here is because those were the only people who even have the slightest context for MMORPGs in any circle of friends. So unless I wanted to vent to them (which I guess would be a good thing except I hate confrontation), my only other outlet was here >_>;
My sister's husband's mom passed away from Covid last night. From what my sister told us, she's had it since Christmas but would not go to the hospital or seek any kind of medical help. She was not vaccinated.
My oldest sister/her family thought Covid was a joke and just the flu.
***sucks, I aint gonna tell anyone to get vaccinated since that's your own choice but you never know what could happen. Keep in touch with your loved ones.
2022 can still be better! it hasn't begun yet! IT WILL BE BETTER. *shakes you* >:(
I'm sure some people wonder why I blab all of this out in here all the time. Honestly, I don't feel like bothering people with my problems in private. I feel like they might feel like they have no choice but to respond. But at the same time I need to get it out to someone.. I dunno lol Another of my new years resolutions is to stop oversharing so this probably wont happen much more. Sorry everyone, thank you for reading.
I'm very sorry. I had the same thing happen a couple days before Christmas.

*Gives Hugs a free hug*
I'm sorry and my condolences .-.
Also do not mind the ranting, I think we all need an outlet somewhere.

Years. Probably at least 6 or 7 years. Honestly looking forward to it especially if they add more stats like relic/AF +2 and +3 did. That said, no mention of any big job balance updates or anything. Guess Master Levels really were their solution.
Edit: looks like the Clintons got another one. RIP Betty White
This is a thread that I found on another website I post at. It can be really really interesting. I thought it deserved a place here.
Post your random thoughts for the day here, or anything else that intrigues you.
For starters, is it possible to give constructive critism to someone who doesn't have a neck? I totally just walked by a girl who didn't. Someone isn't getting a necklace for Valentines day!
And who decided black and white can't be colors? I want to say a racist. I really do.
