That’s exactly the problem & the perfect analogy of FFXI vs the Future since everything is beginning to look very bleak when all I foresee is nothing but Checkers while I seeking to play nothing but Chess.

Outside of that analogy I actually do indeed love Chess which is probably why I enjoyed the FF series and Tactics Ogre / Final Fantasy Tactics as well to begin w/

Anyways I’m just going to enjoy FFXI while it lasts since I am convinced that SE has lost their way playing the Follower rather than the Leader that they always have been. In a perfect world SE would see that both FFXI and FFXIV combat can both coexist yet I don’t think SE views such that way. They only see WoW 115 million Subscribers.

WoW is nothing but a 1-Hit Wonder by Blizzard while SE has been Dominating the RPG genre since the very beginning. Yet SE seems content at playing the Follower now just due to WoW success which is rather unfortunate IMO.

Diablo is a pretty awesome franchise. Blizzard has been making WoW worse and worse. Diablo is still awesome.

A decade ago, I would have told you that you were nuts. If I did that today, I would be lying.

Just reminds me of the skins in League of Legends. They used to be mostly lore-friendly. Now every champion's got some sort of mecha and/or anime skin. And I mean, that's fine. That's what sells. And it's not like an entirely PvP MOBA game is going for immersion.

I guess that's something I've always liked about XI. Except the Track Shirt and Track Pants, those are super jarring.

I just remember almost everybody wearing clothes from a Nier: Automata crossover and flying around in the car from FFXV. Nothing immerses me more in a Renaissance-era fantasy RPG like seeing people zipping around in the Batmobile lol

i had to log on to keep my house. for glamour i went for simplicity on my sam. i basically copied the sekiseigumi from kugane.

I guess NEWS travels around even to those not interested in Blizzard gaming. Personally I don’t really care about the sexual misconduct. Such is being investigated by the State of CA atm & if there was wrong doing eventually such will be corrected.

The most annoying aspect of that whole fiasco was Blizzard changing the name of one of the Overwatch characters from McCree to Cassidy when we have known that character for 5+ years as being McCree.

Blizzard is a great Dev still. Everything will sort itself out.

I just think it ugly.

It is NOT "a Renaissance-era fantasy RPG" it is set in its own fantasy world.

We have mounts that are space suits and giant robots. We have a handful of Garlian magitek mounts. We have robot horses. We have an ethanol powered internal combustion tank. We have a mount that's a flying scale model of our gold saucer FFS.

I somehow do not see a flying transforming car as out of place in that mix.

I mean it's a pretty big deal. Someone committed suicide, and so far the investigation has found a lot of deeply-rooted problems within the company. They've already admitted to the problem, the only question remains how far it goes. The investigation has found photo and voicemail evidence as well.

That's pretty optimistic. So far everyone who's been removed from the company as a scapegoat has left with massive severance pay, and they've done nothing to fix the root of the problems.

They are not only loosing customers they are loosing talent.

Not that they have displayed much of that lately.

League skins still have lore into them, they just have to keep pushing themes into characters. problem is, when they release a skin that totally compromises the original character style, personality, or humanize them (when they are not human).

groovy blitz or nasus is really out there, but loveable in their own way.
Humanized Xerath or Brand is cringe.

Blizzard *USED* to be a great company, even before WoW.
ever since activision happened, company shifted into a dark side.
OW was fun early on, but kinda stopped playing after that dual healer girl came out. D3 was fun, group co-op speedrunning every other season, etc. Heroes of the Storm was fun, until they ***the bed on that.
yeah scandals blah blah blah, china, Taiwan blah blah.
-Blizzard is a company i will no longer support as a gamer, due to its anti-gamer policies or stances it has enabled in the past.
D2 has been tempting, and D4, i was looking forward to at one time, but all Acti-Blizz will get from me is the middle finger, and hope it rots.

XIV Glams? I dont mind Casual glams or animal glams, as long as the whole set is coherent. *** or male *** glams, i do find them cringe.

I guess that's true. My subconscious issues with the aesthetic then must be the lack of cohesion altogether, rather than the cohesion being broken.

The game introduces itself with Renaissance-level technology, which is what threw me off.

Might be the best sales pitch for XIV I've seen yet.

I see Blizzard as a Company bigger & greater than Individuals meaning those whom have done wrong are replaceable. If such a scandal took place at Nintendo I wouldn’t stop playing ZELDA or Mario just cuz not everybody knows how to behave correctly treating others w/ respect & dignity.

These things, while disturbing & repulsive to acknowledge exist, also have no weight in my support for Blizzard gaming. I still want to play OW2 just like I would still play all those Nintendo games regardless of circumstances w/in the company. I’m not gonna stop shopping at Target or Walmart over such a scandal neither.
