When I first moved west 2400 miles was close enough for that.

I was in my 20s and Montana and Nevada both had no real speed limit.

I can’t judge since I made a similar move 2250 miles and beforehand had driven back and forth regularly lol

Reading about a mother in california that fought off a mountain lion that had snatched up her son and was dragging him across the yard. The boy lived and is gonna be fine. Wildlife Officers found the mountain lion on the property later that day. Was a juvenile male, but they said it was aggressive so they shot and killed it. The mother and sister of the mountain lion later showed up, and they put a tracking collar on the sister (the mama mountain lion already had one.). Honestly, it's a crazy story, but I feel bad that the kitty died and didn't get it's meal =(. I'm not a huge fan of children. SAVE THE CATS!

One thing that disturbs me the most in movies/games is when a character doesnt notices he/she died, and tries to live in a purgatory like place unaware of his/her condition while being hinted about his/her fate.

Why does it disturbs me like that? Maybe because i see that situation as reflection of myself? Am I in a purgatory place? Am I alive?

Well, given that we can't even begin to understand consciousness in the first place, as long as you perceive yourself as being alive then the point is rather moot.

I've got crazy gremlins right now. Every time I try to do any amount of work, my remote PC does something extra funky.

At first it was just kind of annoying, duplicating my inputs occasionally (which made sending emails interesting because tthheeyy''dd aallll llooookk lliikkee tthhiiss), but now it's doing weird ***on its own like sending the email as I'm writing it or corrupting the files I'm working on.

Thankfully our IT department is reasonably competent, but damn. It seems to be getting worse lol

Somehow this reminds me of the first circle of hell. Righteous pagans reside there, those who never heard the good word and therefore could neither accept nor reject Jesus as savior.

apparently they limited online play for ppl under 18 to 3 hours/week, specifically between 21-22 pm from fridays to sundays in china.

since some game companies proclaimed in the past that single player is dead makes you wonder what implications that has for gaming in the west.

Those random and arbitrary rules hardly have any real effect but to show how some population is submissive to their rulers.

i read you need some sort of unique identifier like a social security number to play online in china so it's probably easier to enforce this type of arbitrary rules over there.

previously there already were restrictions to online play but a bit more generous amount of hours and the ppl could still choose when to spend those hours which they can't with the new regulations.

That and landscaping, thousands of landscapers suddenly came back out of hiding, but not their slaves somehow. 1500 crew runners but zero crews.

I wouldnt say psycho thoughts, but if there one thing good coming from this pandemic is that reality slap in the face of those who thought world could be that much a safe place.

All those conspiracy theories that were just crazy talk few years ago just slowly starts making at least a bit of sense, imo at least.

None should feel safe anymore. And Im not refering to the virus.

I dunno. Conspiracy theories by definition lack hard evidence. I find it really hard to believe that hundreds (if not thousands) of people are that good at keeping a secret with no one slipping up. This is especially true when the conspiracy itself has no strategic value whatsoever, and even more when countries who dislike each other are supposedly "in on it" together.

Every government in the world has screwed up one way or another in response to this pandemic. If even one of those governments made SARS-CoV-2 to kill the people who pay their taxes (which makes no sense in itself), you'd think they would try to make themselves look like heroes.

EDIT: I'd rather not argue, but I find it really difficult to let slip a comment about how conspiracy theories are "starting to make sense". Can we just not?

Thinking that our economy is just awful. People cutting prices just to sell things. People that need money, can't sell anything and the people that have money, don't need anything. I would love a merge with Carbuncle or ?
