Random Thoughts.....What are you thinking?
Draylo said: » Monster Hunter, but the reviews don't look good. Then again I loved the RE movies so its probably the same crowd hating. I mean it's fine. it's not pay twenty bucks to watch it in a theater fine, but it's fine. ($5 and free popcorn on Tuesday fine) Knowing nothing about the monster hunter game it's just another aliens movie and it's not great at being that. Offline

Looks like those ads are aimed at adult women but I highly doubt they are going to be effective. Square have always been terrible at advertising.
"join over 20 million adventurers!"**, * At this point I have no idea how they get away with saying that, it's blatant false advertising. Even the people that play the game know it's lies. >comments disabled >liked disabled Wow, that commercial really was bad. The sad thing is that the game is flashy enough to probably draw people in on its own merits. Splice together some shots of a Monk jumping around all Bruce Lee style with a Black Mage dropping Flare and you've got yourself a trailer. Maybe show a cute catgirl or two. Done!
The audience doesn't need to know that the flashy effects happen every 5 seconds ad nauseum with no setup or satisfying payoff. At least it would have been more effective than that. And then you wouldn't have to hire actors and badly photoshop a Dark Knight into the frame. Show some dignity, at least. Offline

They're trying to appeal to people that don't play games basically.
Wow did this years ago but Square don't seem to understand how they did it, because this isn't the way. What is sad is that they never did anywhere near this level of advertising for FFXI
They knew better than to waste money on it back then.
Idiots like me knew a numbered ff title was coming out and bought it sight unseen. And they totally blew that good will, that ***'ll never work again. I remember they had a cringy trailer for playonline but I can't find it anymore.

Like its a fanfiction guys, I can't publish this -.- Pull a Fifty Shades; search/replace the names and off you go They seemed to be blown away by the fact I have written 600k words since October. I didn't think it was a big deal, but I guess its abnormal. Bruh, this link shows the word counts of some of the most popular books in the world, and a vast majority don't even come close to 600k (even the word count of the Lord of the Rings trilogy plus the Hobbit is only 576,459). Obviously quantity doesn't translate to quality and stream-of-consciousness writing requires a lot of trimming and editing to be coherent, but it's still a lot of frickin' words to put on a page in six months. YouTube Video Placeholder oh yea its this one i remember when playonline was just a website acting as square's excuse for not doing a proper user manual with ff9.

The XI pictured in this video is exactly what we have today. Excuse me while I get my flash drive full of jammin' tunes that I can integrate into the game while I wait on more party members. I definitely need to edit books 2,3, and 4. Book 1 is already online at AO3. But I'm still only like..80% done with the series. Provided I end it in 6 books. I could possibly do a 7th, but I haven't finalized that yet. It's definitely going to end up being around 800k words, pre editing. I've had a full, original story brewing in my mind for nearly two decades that I'd love to put to paper but I have a really hard time even writing a few sentences due to OCD perfectionism. It's probably 5% done. Would the final product be any good? Who knows. Would it make any money? Probably not. But man would I love to have it finished regardless. I just need to break down that mental block and write something, because I can always edit it later. YouTube Video Placeholder why do people hate charlotte voice acting she is my fav! So sick of modern media and "journalism" with ad-revenue being the main source of income now, social media has made everything so much worse. It's all just negative bait for our lizard brains.
Whether it's game sites employing people to write articles they know will annoy their audience on purpose, or game reviewers playing a game badly on purpose to get those delicious mockery views (yes that cuphead thing was planned and fake) it's all just negative and all swirling our society down the drain. Our lizard brains enjoy mocking someone, being mad at some "other", reading about a victim more than we enjoy positivity, reading uplifting stories, reading about heroic acts. The sad part is, no matter how good or smart you are it still works. Someone writing "that game you like, it sucks because toxic masculinity made controllers for MEN!" or "I can't play this game you like at all and so it sucks and needs an easy mode!" will get a million times more views than "I love this game you like too, it's great!" or "We interview a top gamer of that game you like!" It's all finely crafted negativity because that is the most likely to get our attention and make us share it with our friends, all about the eyeballs on those delicious adverts or letting everyone know their product it about to launch. Even movies and video games do it with their advertising now, they do something they know will annoy the audience just enough to make it go viral, but not push it far enough to turn them off from buying it. It's not so bad when you don't get what they are doing, but it gets really damn tiring when you know what they're doing and it's all intentional. Well, i do think current world seems overwhelming in terms of information. More than ever you need to create new ways to receive and process multiple types of information, always applying filters, comparison, thinking and storing.
Just reading something is no good anymore, you need to be a proactive reader. Nowaday if you dont develop those skills, you gonna end being manipulated. Made feel think things you shouldnt, feel things that are toxic and useless, or simply just waste your time. More than ever, the ability of ignoring becomes a golden skill to polish. Since all those pandemic events, i simply stopped following journals and such, just once a week reading the headlines. That proved to be more than enough in many aspects. |
