music has gotten too perfect, too right. I'd give up 10 years of my life to attend one concert of the NY Phil conducted by Berstein when emotion meant more than perfection.
oh
I had the chance to go to a concert last year, didn't. I think I'll change that next year if I can. Unfortunately there's almost nothing ever near here, so I'd have to travel to go.

Its hard to go and enjoy NY, Philly, Chicago, or the National Symphony any more. I always suggest going to the next tier of orchestras if possible: Houston, Pittsburgh, Denver, San Francisco, Seattle. Don't feel bad if I left off your personal favorite- there really are at least 25 great orchestras in the United States these days, its just that the "best" as they've been known in the past are now more like going to an art museum than a concert. More harsh lockdowns in the UK, getting so bad a new party is being made that is anti lockdown because both main parties both support it.
Is it called the covid party?
How about the "Let's copy the stupid Americans party?" Offline

Boris is a whole other level of stupid, he doesn't need to copy anyone.
Another hard lockdown for 4 weeks, laws about what items you can and cannot buy in stores, more laws to control sugar drinks and sugar foods. Guy caught covid and lost his mind. Please invade us, we have oil. Woo!
Well talked to 3 different people today and they each had a different answer about whether I'll be asleep for the procedure on Thursday or not. That's gonna be fun.

I vibe with (indoor) cats. Find a warm spot, take a nap, get some nom, grab another nap. I'm in.
Anyone else literally sleep on the heat vents as a kid or that just me lol. Asura.Eiryl said: » I vibe with (indoor) cats. Find a warm spot, take a nap, get some nom, grab another nap. I'm in. Anyone else literally sleep on the heat vents as a kid or that just me lol. I would put a sheet over a heat vent, put stuff around the edges so it would stay put, and hang out in my little heat bubble for as long as it stayed on. Good times. Sounds like you guys live in a wonderful place!

That's a problem I run into when I talk to people who specialize in classical music these days. Perfection of form, over soul. It's still possible to find music that you can feel people's hearts in, but you have to dig deeper to find it. Also, it helps to enjoy a lot of different genres, so you don't exhaust one rabbit hole and then just feel empty. This is how I got into a jazz kick for the last six months. In going to some symphonies over the last decade, it's been pretty hit or miss for me. Even with the same conductor, sometimes there's energy in the room and sometimes you just can't feel it. I hope you find what you're looking for, I know it's out there. 2 trailer park girls go 'round the outside... wait!
