Ahhhh I didn't read a lot of the Blog i twas announced in, but sweet, seems I was right.

Awhile back, I was bitching about my hunting knife and why I wanted a new one and I've recently been watching videos on the one I have now which is a Buck 119. It's a pretty good knife but there are a few things that irk me about it, one of my big gripes is that I don't really like clip point blades for hunting knives because the tip is off-center and when gutting a deer you can easily Pierce organs or your own hands but there's another con that no one brings up; with age, the three-piece guard starts to loosen up and pieces shift around independently of each other, not a big problem in general but it becomes an issue of cleanliness as 'stuff' can seep in or stay between the three pieces of the guard, on top of this the handle is made of a black substance that appears to be similar to bowling ball material and it gets slippery.

Kinda looking at getting an Italian mil-spec current production Bundeswehr M1968 Kampfmesser. Spear point and it looks like I can simply take it apart if I need to clean it.

Also, I've always pronounced Bundeswehr like "boon-dess-vehr" I also heard it pronounced (sometimes spelled) "Bundesheer" and it annoys me slightly.

I wouldn't mind a Ka-Bar/Becker BK7 but clip point and I also wouldn't buy one new because I'd immediately be changing just about everything about it. I'm not paying like $80 to do that.

Sheath is ***, have a new one made.
Coating is ugly and abrasive, burn it off and give it a patina.
Grips are shitty plastic, replace them with grippy G10 grips.

They should just sell blanks with no coating, sheath, or handle scales like Condor does.

Additionally, I probably wouldn't use a BK7 as a main hunting knife but more or less as a utility knife and have a dash sheath made for it so I can just tuck it in my belt when I need it and remove it when I don't.
