Going to cut up some thick cut hickory smoked bacon, and then bake it into some biscuit mix.
Incoming Bacon Biscuits. I put this in my cart and by the time I went to pay it...
my heart WHO BOUGHT IT???! Decided to get around to playing FFXV Episode Prompto and Episode Ignis.
God damn, I wish I'd done it sooner. They're so much better than Episode Gladiolus. Ignis has such fun gameplay and such a great soundtrack. YouTube Video Placeholder Actually looking forward to the rest of the DLC episodes now. Can't wait for Episode Ardyn in particular. Q('w'Q)

I decided, since I was hoping my pocket knife, that I'd pull out my hunting knife and make sure it still had a sharp edge. Luckily it did because it's made of a stainless steel that's a *** to sharpen as opposed to carbon steel magnificence. Anyway, there's something that annoys the ***out of me and that's that knives like mine used to be better made and more expensive than they are now. It's a Buck 119, most people who are into knives are aware of them. When I bought mine it was $80-85, came in a box with a nice leather sheath. Even though it's not a vintage knife it's still a nice knife. I think the anvil marking on it notes it was made in 2002. Nowadays Buck 119s come in plastic packaging with nylon sheaths for like $25 from Walmart. I dunno if the steel changed at all but there's something about the whole situation that annoys me because it makes me feel like a snob. "I have a knife like yours!" well, not really. That said I am slightly annoyed with the blade shape because I'm not a fan of the point, I forget the term but it's roughly the same point as a Ka-Bar has. I kinda want one of those old green German Bundeswehr knives, maybe a mil-spec reproduction so I'm not messing up a war relic. I think an Italian company called Maserin makes a good one. Maybe one day. My pocket knife is an Opinel No.8. I also carry a Kershaw leek but tend to use the Opinel more because the shape of the blade lets me cut steak and stuff and it's a carbon steel blade which is easier to keep sharp. Get it, use it to cut up potatoes and onions for a soup or something and you should start to get a protective patina on it.
Also, on big knives, I'd love to have a Ka-Bar/Becker BK7 but I'd probably never buy one new because I'd immediately change just about everything about it. That black coating on the blade would be stripped off, the slippery plastic grips would be swapped for some OD green micarta or G10 or something and the sheath, which is junk, I'd probably have a leather sheath made for it. So buying a new one seems very expensive for something I'll immediately tear apart. If Ka-Bar or Ethan Becker just sold blade blanks for like $30-40 they'd probably out sell the full knife and sheath. Most bushcrafters on YouTube who have one only have it in factory condition for a review and then they customize and mod them. I don't understand spending money on knives that aren't used for cutting up meat and veggies.
