Tried playing Multiplayer in ME:Andromeda yesterday.
Several important notes were brought to mind: - I am shitty at multiplayer - I hate when companies work multiplayer benefits into the single-player game - Forced voicechat is awful - Forced voicechat is even more awful when people talk ***on you before you've even begun playing. - Apropos to the prior point, nerds have earned the stereotype that we all have annoying nasal voices. - People aren't shy about being elitist *** about a game that hasn't even been out for a week - The above people are really, really irritated that someone dare to try to join a mission as a "lame beginner" even though they game gives you access to this and encourages you to do these missions at the very beginning of the game. - Most importantly, I'm reminded why I quit playing multiplayer games. Hell is other people. TL;DR: Drac had it right. I didn't even get into the game to prove how much I sucked.
Step 1) Join an Apex mission Step 2) Nasal irritated nerd voice say: "Why do we keep getting these damn level 1s joining these missions? It's so annoying!" Step 3) Motion to kick me immediately passes, I'm back at MP main screen. Now look. I get it. Maybe the Apex missions aren't easy? I have no idea. I haven't gotten to actually *** play one yet. But they're introduced in the first hour of gameplay in the single player campaign as something you should do. I did the MP tutorial, figured "why not give it a shot?" and joined an extremely basic bronze level Apex mission. I have no idea how hard they are because I haven't gotten the chance to play one yet. Meanwhile the one regular multiplayer game I managed to join I managed to kill a handful of things and not die any more than anyone else, despite being extremely bare bones and limited in gear/experience. And we won. Soooo... I don't know. I just hate so many things about multiplayer. Can I have the multiplayer maps with a simulated squad instead of real people? That'd really be preferable. I realize...that'd just be like the regular game then, but that's what I wanted in the first place. The single-player game tie-ins to MP because god forbid we have a game with multiplayer that doesn't involve *** up the single-player unless you do both... Edit: To be clear, I'm well aware of why they do it; to increase income and longevity of their investment with minimal additional work. Keep people playing MP and potentially paying for boosters and stuff to increase profitability of their investment. I just wish they'd find a better balance, or a smarter way to scale difficulty and match player levels. Usually when it comes to multiplayer like that I stick to doing it with a friend or two... Full random groups, even if they work, usually aren't a much fun.

The people doing impressions seems interesting.

Anyone that has a mic plugged in, you'll hear. Nothing like having a dog barking in your ear all match on the PS4, lol. Candlejack said: » I ran into one once, holy ***. Paying attention to his surroundings wasn't this kid's strong suit. He insisted on playing TF2 as a sniper, HARDSCOPING. I got 20+ tauntkills on'im as everything from Heavy to Spy. Kid ragequit afterwards. Everyone kept tellin'im "dude, it's not his (CJ's) fault, you need to pay attention". I never did get many taunt kills for achievements. /think Have you seen this guy Ghishlain?
YouTube Video Placeholder He has such ridiculous accuracy So my first couple of late-night hours into RE7...
..felt like I was playing True Detective Season 1 meets Ghost Adventures meets Evil Dead 2 meets Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I see why it got such good reviews... Lakshmi.Zerowone said: » Most of mine are dead :( ... worst part about getting older, not everyone you know gets old with you. Ugh. Sorry to hear that. I've lost a couple along the way, but very few and far between. Two childhood friends passed, one died in Afghanistan, one the victim of a DUI (not his own DUI). A few others not as close have passed for medical reasons. I've been lucky I guess. Oddly enough, the vast majority of my RL friends aren't gamers like I am. And the ones that were years ago are all parents now and don't do much gaming, certainly not online gaming with any sort of schedule or regularity. |
