I literally just finished the entirety of DC Comic's New 52 run. All of it. Every single issue from every single series. Took a couple of months to read through.
My favorites were:
Red Hood and the Outlaws
Green Lantern: New Guardians
Green Lantern Corps
Batman Eternal
Red Lanterns
Aquaman Vol. 7
Birds of Prey
Justice League Dark
The way Red Lanterns ended in Future's End was amazing and very heartwarming. I highly recommend that series and the accompanying Future's End issue. Also, did you guys know that one of the Red Lanterns is literally a cat? His name is Dex-Starr, and his origin story is quite sad.
He is a certified BADASS though.
I would have put Stormwatch up there on the list, but they sort of rebooted the series halfway through. It started off really well, but went downhill really fast. Martian Manhunter left the team without an explanation, and different versions of the other established characters (Apollo, Midnighter, and Engineer) were brought in, along with some new ones. It was a bit jarring and I couldn't really get attached to the new versions. Apollo and Midnighter were the first openly gay male couple I've seen in comics. It was pretty cool to have that detail in there. It wasn't like OMG IN YOUR FACE, but instead done very well and their few interactions made you like the characters even more.
Hopefully in DC Rebirth they bring Martian Manhunter back. I remember reading one of the writers saying that he would be one of the most powerful figures in the DC Universe in Rebirth. Hoping to see a solo title for him crop up soon!
Going back even further now and reading Green Lantern Vol 2-4, and Green Lantern: Rebirth.
