So, this doesn't seem legal;
In December, the company my sister worked for was shutting down so she was laid off, sister planned to receive unemployment till February and spend the first bit of 2017 with her grandkids. A few days before Christmas, she gets a call from the HR lady at her old work.
So, a new company came in bought the office space and hired on the HR lady from the old company, HR lady offers my sister a job and my sister turns it down. Now, as I understand, there are ways they could reject you for unemployment if you refuse to return to work or refuse the same amount of work for the same amount of pay. In this case, this was an entirely different company, offering her the same pay but for much more and harder work. The only things the same are the office space and HR lady.
HR lady tells her that if she doesn't accept the offer, they will fight or reject her unemployment.
Apparently, a few other former employees got this same call and everyone feels bullied into it. It seems like to me, the HR lady, now employed by another company, is pulling some crooked ***to try and get ahead in the new company.
Dunno about your state but in NY the threshold is 80% after 10 weeks of unemployment. So after 10 weeks you have to accept any offer you get that is 80% of your last pay, unless there is something majorly and prove-ably not right about the place. But for the last thing I was told it would pretty much have to be so bad that the place offering you work would need to be at risk of being shut down for whatever it is. This was a matter of days between being laid off and getting the call. A week at most.

I'd question why the lady who supposedly now works at a new company has access to the files for the previous company. If not a talk with the state's unemployment office, a lawyer and perhaps the owners of the now defunct company (they may not give a ***, but they may).
Technically since it's not the same company or even a take over company offering the position and she's not on unemployment yet it's not even part of the conversation that should come up when talking with the unemployment people. It varies per state unfortunately. I know in VA when I got terminated (nearly 2 years ago now) that they didn't care about anything other than I worked there, for how long and was I terminated with cause (I wasn't, at least in their eyes). The HR lady from the company wasn't pleased. :D (What the *** kind of title is generalist anyway?)

Well, the old company was training people for the new company. From what I understand, my sister worked for an outsourced service.
Basically, the new company existed elsewhere but they decided that instead of outsourcing their phone-people, they'd just get their own phone people and open up an office in the old company's space. It IS a 100% entirely different company though.

Well technically they have no say in her unemployment or not, it would be with the company she was contracted with who she technically worked for, even though the contract was with the company in this building. (If I understand you correctly).
Did the "new" company buy out the old company in any way?
At the very least I'd have her talk to the unemployment agency, and perhaps a lawyer depending where it goes.

Miserable start to the new year.
God damn neighbors were playing some terrible, TERRIBLE *** music at 3 in the morning rather loudly to hide the fact they were being violent with each other.
Canadians...being violent with...each... 9_-;;
Oh, I see! So they were playing ice hockey? At 3 am? That is kind of weird. :p

Still no goobbue mount though in FFXI, I think, sadly. ;_; (Outside of DAT-swaps, perhaps, that is.) :p

At the very least I'd have her talk to the unemployment agency, and perhaps a lawyer depending where it goes. I'm not sure on the buy out, all I know is that everyone was laid off and equipment; desks, chairs, computers, etc were sold to the outgoing employees who wanted them.

This SSBKK Goku Dokkan event is rough.
Base Goku (3 health bars) -> Super Saiyan Goku (4 health bars) -> Super Saiyan Blue Goku (4 health bars) -> Super Saiyan Blue Kaioken Goku (5 health bars)
It's a good thing all except base are AGL type so my TEQ team can tank their hits pretty well or I'd burn through items too fast to keep up.
Only 2 more clears and I have enough medals to awaken my SSB Goku. @_@;

Beat Rebel Galaxy.
Fun game for a while. The last few missions seemed super rushed so what little weight it had was lost.
You kinda get a Cortana type AI who improves your ship but she sacrifices herself... but she still voices your ships AI and you get to keep all the upgrades she was running.

It shouldn't really be surprising given that it is subscription. If you look at the sales in units it's the second lowest.
