Again, this joke is considerably less funny when your girlfriend actually has Lupus. I'm sure she'll have a good laugh though the next time she can't get out of bed due to the pain from her flare ups or the next time she takes the 15 pills she takes every morning and every night just so she can keep those flares "under control" limiting them to MAYBE 4 days a week if we get lucky. Maybe at her next infusion since she is stuck there for hours she can re-watch the episode where they make a joke about ruining a book about Lupus because IT'S NEVER LUPUS HAHAHAHAHAHA

I know. I mean I get the whole why it is a joke thing, and a major part of the reason is that the show House does such a poor job portraying what Lupus actually is and how it affects people. Main characters get affected by cancer and Huntington's so we get a better understanding of those things. They treat Lupus like a joke, and unfortunately a lot of people base their entire knowledge of medicine off House (better than Dr. Quinn I guess).

I used to be one of the people making the joke, hell so did Alley. We love House and when we got that fate in FFXIV where you fight the crab named Cancer and the fate is call It isn't Lupus or whatever we had our laughs.

I guess it is just one of those things like "this thread gave me cancer". It's funny til it isn't anymore. And then it really really *** isn't.

Also I think Thanksgiving has me stuck still in some kind of defensive mode and all my trigger points are on super sensitive.

I need to just take a good crouch and disarm a few.
