Be it voluntary or paid, when you take a place of authority, you also take a place of responsibility and thus need to act professionally.
YOU ARE THE FACE OF THE ORGANIZATION.
What people see you do, matters. What people don't see you do, also matters.
If they don't see you acting professional, or doing your jobs for the roles you signed on for, professionally, you can expect some serious backlash.
Yeah and even when you do it professionally and you let them off with a warning then they cry out like you shot them.
This also comes with the package. You can't control how people will react, but it doesn't mean you shouldn't have some finesse while moderating.
gotta look at it like fencing, gotta anticipate every and all moves and outcomes, strike with finesse while not going at it like a savage,
its the internet, people will act like 12 year olds, while others will act like adults. there are rules ye, and both sides should conform to them. there are some sites where the rules are alot stricter and some more lax, but regardless if both sides are understanding within a civilized manner it will make peoples days alot better.
This is a thread that I found on another website I post at. It can be really really interesting. I thought it deserved a place here.
Post your random thoughts for the day here, or anything else that intrigues you.
For starters, is it possible to give constructive critism to someone who doesn't have a neck? I totally just walked by a girl who didn't. Someone isn't getting a necklace for Valentines day!
And who decided black and white can't be colors? I want to say a racist. I really do.
