19 and 29% on car loans should be illegal, wow.
The highest I ever actually saw when looking at a dealership's data was 49% and that was in Tennessee where there are basically no regulations.

Pretty sure that doesn't apply to everything (it might to BHPH I am not sure). Payday loan companies are still doing crazy ***like 500% or higher. As long as it's less than 3 months (or expected to be less than 3 months, per the terms of the notes), it's currently unregulated. Which is pretty *** up
Also, I don't know about 500%, I mean, that would be kindof silly to do.

Compound Interest Calculator for shits/giggles http://www.usatoday.com/story/money/personalfinance/2014/04/20/id-nv-ut-have-among-highest-payday-loan-rates/7943519/ This is a couple years old, but from what I have heard the CFPB hasn't had a lot of luck regulating Payday Loans because of legaleze. Topic Shift - Did anyone see that video of the woman in the bookstore freaking out about the Paul Sheldon Misery books? At first I thought it was pretty funny, but then I looked into a bit and now it is just dumb. YouTube Video Placeholder They take out payday loans because they have to and then many of them get caught in a loop where they take out loans > repay > take out a new loan to repay and it never ends because they have to pay so much more all the time Grumpy Cat said: » Topic Shift - Did anyone see that video of the woman in the bookstore freaking out about the Paul Sheldon Misery books? I'm not saying it's a problem, I'm saying that the "outrage" is blown out of proportion.
The real issue is being dependent on it. Never even heard of that book YouTube Video Placeholder The thing is that Paul Sheldon is a CHARACTER in the Stephen King novel Misery. In the book Paul Sheldon writes a series of not-actually-existant Misery novels. Seeing this version it is a little more clear that it is scripted, apparently she is playing a part of a character in the Stephen King novel. Facebook has a shorter version that just shows the freakout. Grumpy Cat said: » Topic Shift - Did anyone see that video of the woman in the bookstore freaking out about the Paul Sheldon Misery books? In most, if not nearly all cases, this interest rate is passed off as a fee, which would remove the regulatory constraints of the Feds. I still say the bigger issue is the dependency on this. Josie is this incorrect too?
