Just don't be like me, make a male character and then 13 hours in realize that female armor looks way cooler and have to start over. Really wish they would make a Monster Hunter on PS4
I could go for a maid cafe right about now.

Why, do they not shave their legs or something?

Already overwhelmed xD Advice? Faelar said: » Leon Kasai said: » Woo! MonHun Generations is here. Now for the hardest part of the game; character creation. I just started Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. This is my first Monster Hunter game. Already overwhelmed xD Advice? Trade it in and get Generations is the best advice at this point. It is one of those series, especially with this big jump in tech that Gen has, where you really don't need to play the other games to get anything more out of it. In fact, I would say that playing MH4U would just be a total waste of your time. Maids~

This is my first Monster Hunter game. Already overwhelmed xD Advice? Herb + Blue Mushroom = Potion Potion + Honey = Mega Potion You can only take 10 of each in your bag (other items have other limits), so if you're really worried about healing it's a good idea to take 10 Mega Potions, 10 Potions and 10 Honey. That way you can craft more Mega Potions once you've used some up. And whenever you encounter a new large monster, don't just rush in and start swinging wildly; always take the time to learn how it moves and attacks first. EDIT: Get dung bombs as soon as you can. You can use them to get out from under a monster if it pins you, and to shoo away large monsters. Useful for quests with multiple annoying monsters. Also beware of Jho. I guess since Leon is going all out, I will throw down some real advice too.
Hotbar items - Figure out how to configure that. Items I usually have hotbar'd are Mega Potion, Dung Bomb, Antidote, Nulberry. http://kiranico.com/en/mh4u Resource resource. You can look up items and it tells you where and how just about everything drops. Athena's *** - I can't google a link for this while at work, but it is a nice little app where you can set skills you want, and it will show you different armor combos that get you there. You can save in your Talismans as well and it will be able to account for those which is nice. Check out some weapon guides. Youtubers who I enjoy watching are Arekkz and GaijinHunter. Each of them has tutorials for every weapon type in MH4U. At least get 1 armor set skill before you try playing online. Attack Up, Expert, even Defense Up or Health Up. Just something that shows other people you know at least somewhat how the game works. I seriously walk on matches if I show up and all 3 people have no armor skills. Demon Drug and Armorskin - These are pretty easy to make early on. Always take at least 1 of each with you. This allows you to eat food in town with elemental resists and still get Atk/Def buffs. They last until you die or finish the quest so they are very much worth it! Item sets and gear sets! I played like 40 hours before I realized you can make a ton of different item loadouts. This means you don't have to lug all your capture items with you when you plan to kill a monster or go on a gather quest. Gear sets are great because you might want to swap weapontypes based on your party makeup and it will save you a ton of time. GC, you will die a most painful, Canadian death.

The new Monster Hunter doesn't have Qurupeco in it though, does it?
Today's such a
wonderful day. |
