Not saying you can't be good at both, but there's almost always a distinguished difference between which is your forte.

i'm kinda meh on hashbrowns. i prefer fried potatoes. cut em up in chunks and cook in oil with salt and pepper. i just don't get any flavor from hashbrowns. it just tastes like burnt grease.

Hashbrowns are more of a texture and density tool that make up the foundation of breakfasty foods. Makes it easy to mix in your eggs and whatnot together on toast, though I think toast with hasbrowns would be a bit of a starch overdose.

Though hash browns can be quite delicious on their own if done right.
Try using something more defined like peanut oil and adding garlic salt and adding onions.

i don't like mcdonalds hashbrowns, ihop hasbrowns, or waffle house hashbrowns. actually the dunkin donuts hashbrown bites are pretty good.
