Ugh, think I learned the hard way not to trust certain people with money...
loaned someone almost 800 bucks and they're skirting around trying to pay me back.

I don't loan money to friends and family. If I can't afford it I can't afford to help and I say, "I'm sorry but I can't afford it at this time. Is there any other way I can help?" Or, if I can afford to help they get it without expectation, and it will either all come out even in the end or it won't. If they elect to pay me back or do something for me later on, or maybe I need help somehow somewhere down the line and they help me back, fine. If not, it is what it is. I don't feel like I'm holding up my end of the bargain for a friend if I'm not willing to help them when I can afford to. Learned that from one of the first friends I made in college who practiced the same thing. I don't know what his life experience was before that at such an early age that taught him that, but I truly think it's an invaluable lesson. I find it best for my own sanity to just "loan" as if I was giving something away rather than loaning it expecting a return...
I mean if it was a small amount I would let it go... cause it isn't worth the time to pursue it.
But the amount right now? Yeah :/ and the circumstances that lead up to it were *** too (it could have landed me in a legal mess if I had not loaned it) That's kinda why I'm on a budget with my tax return and buying a new GPU ... I had to borrow the money from my aunt to avoid a mess, and in turn I have to pay her back most of my tax return :( Otherwise i'd be able to almost build a new computer lol. Someone must have tried to boycott kinder pretty hard for that to happen.
Bismarck.Josiahfk said: » Money messes; I hope you get free of them and stay that way. yeah after I get all my monies that is owed to me, I'm gonna be picky as hell who I loan it to. Or in the case of doing photo work for people, I am getting my money up front instead of after it's done (i've been dicked around too much) Valefor.Sehachan said: » Wow a kid found a pill in a kinder egg. Never do commission work without a deposit! *will stress this vehemently* Valefor.Endoq said: » Valefor.Sehachan said: » Wow a kid found a pill in a kinder egg. Pretty much any professional work needs to have a deposit made beforehand.

We had the Nestle Magic Ball for a time. It originally was chocolate around a plastic ball which contained a prize until a kid suffocated with it.
Same thing happened with the Burger King Pokeballs, proving that if it exists, we Americans will find a way for it to kill us. Kinder surprises are inside those plastic capsules. You need to be a snake to swallow that.
Ok, maybe it's not that difficult and you can still try and suffocate, but it's really impossible to get it in your throat by accident. edit: sounds like dumb parenting around kids playing with the small toys therein Those things are *** awesome tasting
i have no idea what half of these things are but kinder eggs.

(unless i'm spending large sums of money on myself, then BRING IT ON :D ) On another note I still feel like throwing up my soul. Wonder if I can sleep tonight.
