Personally that's what I find VMs great for.
Some distros let you boot from installation disk without actual installation, which is good for testing. That or VM.
There is that, I typically forget about that feature, mostly because I've never used it.

How is it we are terrified of the female body but pools of blood is fine? Seems kinda backward.
