I was thinking about the Blade of Woe, it was never mentioned prior to Oblivion which leads me to believe that it was given as a ceremonial weapon. Not really intended to be a real weapon from the start but at the end of the questline, the Night Mother empowers it and thus we witness a mundane ceremonial dagger become an artifact of whoever the Night Mother truly is. As such the dagger lives on and is reincarnated in Skyrim. So we actually are not only the cause of the sanctification of it, for lack of a better term, we are the first owner. I love the Blade of Woe in Skyrim.
Going off memory here so excuse me for any misdirection.
Lucian gave you the blade stating it was a "virgin blade" as part of your initiation and that it "thirsts for blood."
It was meant as a weapon, and seeing our first intimate interaction with the Brotherhood came with Oblivion it's not surprising we know nothing of its existence in previous titles. That said, the blade "thirsts" so my assumption would be that it was intended as a proper weapon from the start, but not necessarily expected to be as powerful as it became. It's very likely that the Blade of Woe is not a singular blade but rather any blade that is directly empowered by the Night Mother and is somehow linked to a specific member of the Brotherhood, whether it be based on skill or based on someone's role. Remember, in Oblivion the holder of the blade(the player) was put into a place to preserve the Brotherhood, when the blade reappears in Skyrim it is originally held by Astrid, who is the leader of what is the last known active chapter of the Brotherhood before being passed to you. Perhaps, using my theory, the blade is any empowered by the Night Mother that belongs to a member of the Brotherhood who's main goal, purpose, or end result is the preservation of the Brotherhood in some way.
With all that said, with our little interaction with the Brotherhood before these events, we have no idea how many previous Blade there may have been, for all we know what we know as the blade are actually reincarnation of what would have been the Mother's weapon before she became the Night Mother, or perhaps a simple embodiment of her power and the "blade" has been given to many saviors of the Brotherhood throughout its lifespan.
That all said, I wonder after the events of Skyrim what will become of the Brotherhood.
Just as a heads up.
If you notice any strange activities on your steam account. Assume it has been compromised, reset passwords etc.
I heard they had problems with phishing for people who logged in to websites without using the Steam client. They mentioned that denial of service was being used to redirect people from legitimate sites to phishing venues where Steam passwords could be stolen.
Appatently that's not possible if you only log using the actual Steam client.
I would be wary of using the Steam credentials anywhere but on the actual Steam client regardless of this attack happening or not...
So while your advice is very valid, I don't think there's a reason for panic if a person never used their password on something like Steam DB or other third party site.
Anyone else have their lights/tree up and ready 364 days early for Christmas? I see a lot of these early-birds where I live, even my room mates.
the extent of my decoration this year? I took the white bulbs out of the lampposts in the front yard and put in rotating full spectrum light bulbs. (which apparently still work at -45 despite claiming not to work below -20)

Do you live in Alaska or something?
Worse, Canada.
I mean, Texas is pretty bad given that Ted Nugent lives there...but Canada gave birth to Justin Bieber so yeah, Canada is pretty bad.
This is a thread that I found on another website I post at. It can be really really interesting. I thought it deserved a place here.
Post your random thoughts for the day here, or anything else that intrigues you.
For starters, is it possible to give constructive critism to someone who doesn't have a neck? I totally just walked by a girl who didn't. Someone isn't getting a necklace for Valentines day!
And who decided black and white can't be colors? I want to say a racist. I really do.
