I also break tablets pretty often but the ones I break tend to be 100~ kindle fires or what not. The last tablet I bought was a Lenovo Tab which is about 200~ but so far has worked great, bigger screen than anything I found of the same price range and haven't found anything I really disliked about it. Put them in an otterbox case then if they break that often. I'm not particularly inclined towards pads cause I've seen my mother using the touch technology...she tries to poke holes through the screen.

It was okay but some of the themes made me very uncomfortable. it was a weird dark-fun game. Stay away from Chrome Books. They're just awful. Better off getting a real laptop. The $500 price tag being quoted by everyone sounds about right. Might try to save a little and get used, but that's up to you.

They can't use tech. Might as well buy a $300 Chomebook for someone that can't use tech than try to make a pig fly. They are very cheap and simple to use, and it doesn't sound like anything Windows based is even needed. Cutting out the threat of viruses too which is a big boon for tech illiterate people. They aren't awful anyway, but just for $179 you can't expect much. That being said they run very light on resources which is why they can have that lower price tag from cheaper hardware. Besides Chrome OS is coming to end and switching to Android OS sometime soon. It's a soon to be obsolete operating system. I would share my favorite music video called "HIMITSUスパーク" By A Crow is White Also theres "Fake!Fake!" Which is also JUST as awesome. But people can explore that on there own. (It's all in JP).
