...you have any science to back that up? Evolution doesn't really tend to prepare creatures for being stabbed with forged steel. You can condition them to halve calmer behavior, but there's really not a lot of conscious acceptance of fate going on with our eatin' birds.
If there is then we should maybe consider the possibility we shouldn't be eating them, given their ability to reason and make conscious choices regarding their inevitable fate.

No. That makes them trust you so you can betray that trust and stab them. It doesn't make them more amenable to being killed. There's a very significant difference.

This actually makes me feel even better about killing them because they will have had little to no anxiety and they got to enjoy the company of a trusted friend in their last moments of life.

Actually you remove the head or slice the throat when killing livestock for food. This ensures the blood is drained.

Don't misunderstand me. I hate animal cruelty. But I feel no remorse for killing for food and neither does any other life that does the same.
