Every fansub anime I've seen is riddled with errors, and takes the translations either too literal, or can't figure out a word or phrase, and instead replaces it with something that can't possibly make sense.

Yeah. And a lot of them are still terrible. You can tell which ones are terrible too, because what's being translated doesn't make sense in English.

I don't download anymore, but I used to torrent them. but anything anime I've needed to watch has been animehere.com, which has some pretty decent subs.

I download off nyaa and all the blue and green uploaders (kinda like trusted and vip status) are fine. Groups like FFF, Commie, Whynot etc rarely make mistakes

The worst are Korean and Chinese manhwa/manhua and webtoons, far less people translating those so the quality is kinda ehh at times if it's not a very popular series
