After his disabled owner was struck by a car, 'Endal' the service dog pulled his unconscious owner into the recovery position, retrieved his mobile phone from beneath the car, fetched a blanket and covered him, and then ran to a nearby hotel to obtain help

PDSA Gold Medal

George Cross

The PDSA Gold Medal is an animal bravery award that acknowledges the bravery and devotion to duty of animals. It was created by the People's Dispensary for Sick Animals (PDSA) in 2001, and is now recognised as the animal equivalent of the George Cross. An animal can be awarded the PDSA Gold Medal if it assists in saving human or non-human life when its own life is in danger or through exceptional devotion to duty. The medal can also be awarded to animals in public service, such as police or rescue dogs, if the animal dies or suffers serious injury while carrying out its official duties in the face of armed and violent opposition.

This happened ages ago. And for those who don't know, it wasn't a goliardic thing or anything; bananas were being thrown as racial insults at black players, but the gesture became famous for the 'look at all the *** I give about your racism' reaction of Dani Alves.
Then banana selfies became viral for a time because of that, as a way to support the anti-racism stance. "We are all monkeys".

Judging from the fact the vest the first dog was wearing had the Purina logo I'm guessing he got plenty of tasty rewards lol.

And if a dog saves some ones life and you DON'T give them at least a bone, you are a ***.

Well unless it's like Hitler or something. Then it would probably be better to break out the newspaper and say bad dog.
