Personally I'm fine with eliminating everything smaller than a quarter of minted/printed currency, and probably coining the $1 as well.

At the same time, restructure the taxes to where everything comes up to be on the dollar or divisible by the quarter. But that will never happen, so "meh."

Canada is already doing this, somewhat. They don't have pennies anymore, so everything is rounded up to the nearest nickel. It sucked while I was there, but whatever suits them.

If they get rid of the penny, it will suck for nearly all businesses since we use EFT as much as cash, and would have to change that too. That would be a very costly transition.

We used to have even 1 cent in €, but I'm pretty sure it's been gutted for good. There still exist though 2 and 5 which no one wants and is usually left at the counter pretending it's a tip for the service. Higher ones are largely used(10, 20 and 50 cents, 1 and 2 €).

I wouldn't mind getting rid of the US penny. I understand that it will be a costly transition and will be strongly fought against by small to medium sized businesses due to the cost of conversions, but I believe that it really needs to get rid of.

The long term saving of not having to keep them stocked, or count them would easily outweigh it.

Price changes are common, it would be easy to adjust things to be rounded up/down while still favoring a margin.

Really the big issue is inconsistencies with local taxes, between sales and food (I realize not everywhere has these), some items that are $0.99 ring up as $1.01 (like an Arizona tea , other items as $1.04/5 (I think the tax rate went up in VA to 5.5 )

that's really where the complications set in, if it weren't for taxes it would be easy to adjust the prices.

Then again it's not like pennies would vanish if they stopped minting them, they'd still be around for a long time.

yesterday had a good run, completed the Hildibran questline, I want more.

that asides, my good run ended when doing KoL....
we go in, and the WHM goes

how bad can he be? I said myself, and arrive to the 1st boss with no incident.

we wiped once, we figured out the fight.
the smn dies and cant seem to stay alive after that, whm goes down, managed to win .

as we continue, we engage a mob of groups, summoner's pet is focused on an untargetable mob.
I mention it twice, no change.
clear room, then smn disconnects.
we get to boss, he isn't back. booted, whm gets angry. apparently they where together.
tank leaves.

new DPS and Tank arrive, fight boss, wipe once, win, move on.

get to last boss. WHM goes full retard, not avoiding AOEs and getting killed. we figured out the fight, NP.
wipe again, healer again.
3rd time, after we telling the healer to buffs us, 5 mins pass till he actually does it. managed to get boss down to 15%
whm runs opposite direction, dies.

20 mins left, takes forever to buff again.
we go into a safe zone for the AOE, he goes in, then walks out of it and dies.
healer left. 10 mins left on the clock.
timed out.
