Yah, it's one thing to want to protect your thread, but removing all the dissenting opinions via topicban just ultimately ends with a self-gratification soap-box platform of a thread, with only the OP interested. :/
If it weren't so theoretical-/rhetorical-based in nature (i.e. let's change the US socio-political-military-economic model to one used over a century ago...come on, the answer is so easy!) I think people could approach it a little less-skeptically. :/
