When did K-12 start getting a fall break, anyhow?

I've seen a few teacher friends of mine talk about this on Facebook, too.

We never got a "fall break" when I was in school...nor spring, for that matter.

We got summer vacation from approximately the second week of June through the last week of August, Thursday-Monday for Thanksgiving (rednecks, first day of deer season on Monday; if they didn't give it to us, there would be like 40% attendance anyhow), normally seven to nine days for Christmas depending where in the week it fell...and that was it for breaks of any length. Normally like one in-service day every six weeks or so.

There's some very comical parts in the show, I find that it fits, overall. The entire nature of the thing is over the top in each and every way, and it fits.
