I'm not the only one disapointed by the new Silent Hills trailer, am I? It seemed to try too hard and lacked any subtlety that made the PT authentically scary. Overall, it looked like a haunted house you'd pay to go into for halloween. Over the top, predicable and scary only on the surface.

Silent Hill 4 tried the whole first person view scares stuff and no one liked it. And it was only a small portion of the game.

I liked the presentation in PT way more than the trailer, but still it came off too... unfamiliar. You could sorta see some of the original atmosphere in the setting, like the creepy pictures and the bathroom, but nothing says Silent Hill like shitting your pants when an event triggers and the walls start rusting over.

Admittedly, I shouldn't have bothered getting my hopes up, Silent Hill hasn't had anything better than a mediocre game made in a decade.
I suppose seeing names of key members of the original Silent Hill games in the credits did it.

The only Silent Hill I ever played was the first one, and honestly I never really thought it was scary or creepy.

Ah yeah, not really looking forward to that grind. Although I suspect I'll hate it less than the mythology and gil grind for the animus and novus stages.
