Occasionally yes, and it upsets me greatly. I haven't tested enough to know whether it only happens when some characters are being controled, but I've learned to just save everytime I wanna check it, just in case.

Um... when you plug your phone into your pc, just browse the internal storage on the phone and there should be a bunch of folders all labeled and such. On my phone there is a folder for notifications and a folder for ringtones, as well as alarms, and about two dozen other categories.

Droid Razr HD Maxx btw. Not sure how it is on older Android phones, but I assume it would be similar if not the same.
