This is an intriguing development.

Submitted a Resume and Cover Letter and within 30 minutes got called in for an interview Thursday.

This is going to be my first real interview...

While getting an interview within that time frame is good, it's also good to be cautious, and to do research on the company, it's products, and it's services before going into the interview.

I would also suggest having questions prepared to "interview the interviewer", as it were, since they are the immediate face of the company you will be engaging with.

I would also leave talking about compensation until the end of the interview, or unless they make an offer, or hint at hiring/making an offer.

It's been said that no matter how long an interview is, the first 5-10 minutes (assuming it lasts 10 minutes), is the most crucial. Also, read up on what questions they are allowed to ask in your state, so you can make appropriate responses, without sounding off-put. Some of them interviewers are crafty SOB's, and can run miles around the illegal questions without people noticing. (I've fallen for it in my first few interviews)

Challenge yourself to rise or drop to their level of conversation in the interview as well. Most places are looking for qualified people, but more so people that would fit into the established dynamic, without causing trouble.

I don't know how Google thinks some times. Thread about guns, shows me gun control stuffs. Thread about minimum wage, shows me minimum wage Obama and college ads.

Random thoughts? Apparently I need to date Asian and/or Muslim women.
