Random Thoughts.....What Are You Thinking?

Education is objective, not subjective. There's no point for me to try to write in the guide and teach someone how to and that they should love BLU and make it their favorite job. If they don't feel that way naturally, by themselves, then it isn't my place to pound it into their skull and make them think otherwise. I don't have the need or desire to do anything except create a warm learning environment where people can ask their questions and get reliable answers.

BLU has never been in a position where everyone wanted to play it because it was actually good, it's never been buffed to that point. It was played because it was a cheap and easy way to do a variety of procs and get into parties. Those of us who played and still play BLU did/do it because we love the job. That isn't something you can teach or math to someone.

It depends, is the guide going to great lengths to suggest that x job is superior to all other jobs and trying to explain why? Or is it actually serving its purpose and teaching people how to play it properly.

Opinions should be left as personal matters, not rammed down the throats of whoever is reading your guide. Outlining when and where something is useful (accurately) and giving gear examples, spell sets, or whatever else is useful content.

but you would be led astray as to how to use it, especially if such behavior garnered support. there's more to properly playing the job than just knowing what gear to use.

basically, fanaticism regarding a job has nothing to do with the ability to write an accurate, useful guide. and I could name more than one person that was capable of doing it before I did, not just Draylo.

so are you trying to say my guide and a lot of the other ones are written by bandwagoners or something? because i don't see what the point of even saying it is otherwise. if the bandwagoner has an appreciable grasp on game mechanics and how the job works, their guide will be just as useful for its purpose as one written by someone else

Proth wrote a very nice guide, I had a look at it when I was considering BLU for ceizak(before I realized yoichi sam ***on it). It's been well-maintained and he's put quite a bit of time into it. Whether Draylo could have done equally well is irrelevant, why are you giving him ***about something he did that only grants benefit to others?

It doesn't matter if he even has BLU unlocked, his information is accurate and (mostly) unbiased, which is the point of a guide to begin with.

i've had it leveled and geared since 2007. the only job I played more frequently then was PLD. BLU was the source of almost all of my merits because I never had time for bird parties, but had plenty of time to burn an XP ring or two on imps. I alternated between PLD and BLU for tanking, and when I wasn't tanking I was DDing on BLU or SAM. you tell me.

guides would change nothing. they don't make a job better or worse, they don't reach enough people to cause full emp/relic/af gimps to cease existing entirely and *** up other people's perception of the job. people knew DRG wasn't terrible for a long time during the whole lolDRG stage, did it matter? *** no. stigmas will exist regardless of guides. mitigation will never be 100%.

there's no reason to make a guide other than to help other people. I don't get paid to make and maintain them, I don't (or at least I hope) get erect every time someone hits the [+] button, I don't need someone to tell me my guide for an MMO is good to validate myself. I do it to help people, as should anyone who writes a guide. The fact that I love BLU is just an added bonus, and has nothing to do with the value of the guide's content. I wouldn't have bothered maintaining it for two years at this point otherwise.

Anyway I'm done, this is getting stupid.
