I never grew up with pokemon: we were too poor and religious lol. I see stuff like that and relate but don't find entertaining. Did you play pokemon as a young kali?
I played pokemon red, and nothing afterwards. I don't know the name of a single pokemon after mewtwo, except maybe the legendary birds, I know those.

I just find the theme to be cute, and I like it. The twitch stream is chaos and anything can happen makes it interesting, but mostly so frustrating to the point I can't watch it anymore, so I only peek in on it every few hours to catch up.

I think my favorite part is that they are keeping track of everything, writing their story as they go on their journey, create lore from it, and the most hilarious and heart breaking moments are created into memes which everyone will hate for eternity.

Honestly, I think part of why I didn't keep following was the fact that I couldn't keep up with all the handheld generations, not that I could even afford them as a kid if I wanted to. It was really a turnoff for me, even tho I loved the first generation or w/e I was caught up to.

Also I started to grow out of the show I guess, it was shortly after the elemental legendary bird movies I think.

I enjoy playing the newer games but for me Generation 2 (Gold, Silver, and Crystal) was the last addition of "real" Pokemon. Why? Well, look at it this way; the design was so close to Gen 1, the Pokemon still looked original, natural, and in a way plausible. From Gen 3 onwards I still played but I populated my party with Gen 1 and 2 Pokemon as I still do in newer games.

EDIT: Forgot to point out that there were signs of Gen 2 Pokemon being planned when Gen 1 was still new. (Ho-oh in ep. 1 of Pokemon)

I played Pokemon Blue on PC on an emulator since I didn't have a gameboy but then I got a Gameboy Color so I could play Silver and Gold (got them before release here, they were imported lol). Kinda big thing when you're 9-10 to play something before everyone else

There was like 49 odd Pokemon that where scrapped in red/green/blue due to memory limits. Those ended up in G/S\C , reason why it's seems more like G1.
