Random Thoughts.....What are you thinking?
As I stare out my window to the near 2 feet of snow on the ground...
...I laugh at the 'chaos' the 6" or so is causing down south. (of course I dont think its funny that people are dying, but still...) Why would anyone read professionally translated manga lol, they have inaccuracies and weird translations. Lots of stuff lost in translation as well.

Well some boobies and not so veiled erotic situations is just ecchi, then there's worse than that... >.>
Speed translations are awful but groups like Mangastream, The Company, EGscans, Deadbeat, Red Hawk etc are all fan translations but they're generally better than any professional translator since they include a lot of information about the original Korean or Japanese and leave in certain words that don't translate well and have a brief explanation as to why. Viz did a good job on Vagabond but they're usually pretty terrible if someone has a dialect or they're translating something that we don't really have a word for.

I noticed alot of the TokyoPop-licensed manga take forever to be translated. Like Hatenkou Yuugi (aka Dazzle). I really like that series too =( Bismarck.Dracondria said: » Speed translations are awful but groups like Mangastream, The Company, EGscans, Deadbeat, Red Hawk etc are all fan translations but they're generally better than any professional translator since they include a lot of information about the original Korean or Japanese and leave in certain words that don't translate well and have a brief explanation as to why. Yeah, if it's an otaku who understands the Japanese culture, you can leave the word "onigiri" or "rice ball" in there. But if it's aimed for kids, then "jelly-filled doughnut" is good enough for those damn brats. It's not porn! Mangafox calls the genre smut..but anyway it's just one of that kind!
Just a general discontent with less popular series that I get into and that get forgotten for months <.< sometimes Translators wait for a whole volume to be released before translating it, instead of just doing a chapter every week/month/trimester :(
such is the case of New Prince of Tennis.... Valefor.Sehachan said: » It's not porn! Mangafox calls the genre smut..but anyway it's just one of that kind! They have a lot of made up words that sound a little weird when translated Soul cutter.

Like for Sekirei they do that (i think) But for like Kaminomizo or Denpa Kyoushi they update that like within 2 days. They're both very popular. Lots of stuff in Korean webtoons can't be well translated either, so leaving the original word and having an explanation for it works better.
Like Hwajeopgongpasool in Tower of God. It translates to Floral Butterfly Piercing Technique but that doesn't sound very good in English lol Valefor.Sehachan said: » It's not porn! WTF happened before again? " or "Hey look, new Monster Musume no iru nichijou. Wat? Who is this lady? " or something like "hey look, a new Akuma to Love Song (A devil and her love song) dafuk happened again?" read Seikon a while ago, kinda dropped it at one point due to update and not remembering what was going on (as stated above).
started reading KxS a couple weeks ago, cant sit and read too much on a go, but it's amusing. Waiting for Akuma to finish before I start reading it again, it stopped for a while
I've only watched the anime for KissxSis and good god. I only watch it for Riko. I have to watch it with earphones too.
Same with "Saikin imouto". Seriously, it goes over the line sometimes.
