Well, it's also because it's very close to "bourgeois" which is a term for upper middle class individuals who feel they are higher up in the food chain than those bourgeoisie who are lower middle class. It's part of a so-called socioeconomic hierarchy which is manifested by false realities. That's why it's hilarious to me.
