I first exchanged money at 1 CAD : 1.13 AUD, so I lost thousands in that exchange. Now that I'm earning AUD, I went to send money back home and got 1 CAD : .86 AUD

I think it's a pretty good deal if it's in an acceptable price range for you.
I don't think the i5-3337U is that bad of a processor (Intel's processor range is: i3, i5, i7--so i5 is sorta mid-range).
8GB of memory is plenty for most things these days (you'll probably want 4GB minimum).
And the GTX 635M will let you play most games (albeit not at max/ultra settings).
Although, one potential downside is the screen resolution--Asus's site lists it at 1366x768--which would kinda be like a HD 720 display (it's just sorta low for a 15" laptop--it's a resolution you'd find on most laptops under 15").

It's not a /bad/ processor, you can just do better. But it's a laptop and won't run the way a desktop will anyway. Not at a reasonable price that is!
