About half way done?
About 30 pages away from the halfway point, so I'm gonna call it halfway. So far she's gone from being beaten by her aunt to going to an all-girl school and having her best friend die in her arms to coming to this creepy house that contains creepy laughter and some strange apparition that finds burning the house down to be a fun activity in the dead of night. Now she's spending like weeks among a bunch of pretentious high class *** while they berate the crap out of her and I just got to the point where she is going to talk to a fortune teller of all people. That and she's in love with her employer who I guess is ugly or something?

Sorry if spoilers.

I never really got the vibe of him being mean. Maybe I've read his character wrong; it's highly possible. But, odds are when we actually get to start teaching this, I'll probably have to read it again to keep it fresh. From what I'm seeing, the way he insists on her being in the room with all the rich *** makes me think that he wants her around and though he's trying to maintain the class structure, there's a part of him that wants to tear down those walls and interact with her on a more personal level.

Of course, this has a ton of social implications, so I won't be the least surprised if at least one of my lessons has something to do with British class hierarchy.

exactly what i do! i'm the outcast of practically everyone i know that isnt a close friend of mine because of it lol. like all my friend's other groups of friends see me as some sort of crazy loon because i refuse to change for someone else
