Sausages you buy here are barely thicker than a finger.

Those are probably medium large sausage, but most "italian style" sausages are thicker than a hotdog. The steaks might be filets which are usually thicker to allow for rare center, while being smaller than a normal sized steak so that they can charge you more per meat.

For the most part its sold that way here too. Alot of local butcher shops sell specials on chicken breasts though. My place gives me 5 breasts for 5 euro. Which is good value. As for the types of steak here,its ALL thin as ***,unless you ask for a thick cut,and a decently thick cut is stupidly expensive.
