It's not quite dead. It's just that no one notices the few people who do it, which only accelerates its death as more and more people begin to decide it's not something worth caring about anymore.
Well, what are chivalrous actions? Lady first, always. Opening doors for them. I don't know how I feel about pulling out a woman's chair for her anymore. And at what point do you stop? Do you do it for her forever? Become an official couple? What if she's one of those doofus feminist chicks who's all "I can open the door myself -z snap-"
***'s hard man. There's not longer a 'You should do this' list.

Go to dinner and try to pay, "I can buy my own meal. WHat do you think I need you to pay for everything?!"
I'm not really one that's has to be first every time through a door or w/e. I do expect you to hold the door, because everyone should hold the door for people right effing behind them. I do not expect you to pay for my meal, but if you offer I won't argue lol And if you do end up paying, don't think you just bought yourself permission to touch my ***.

Okay, ladies, what sort of chivalry would you expect on a first date? And what would you like?
If I wanted to be chivalrous on a first date,I'd ride across the kingdom, slay a fire breathing dragon atop a haunted castle for her. And expect nothing more than a "my hero!"

I just don't like it when they are trying too hard.
It's kinda funny when they're tripping over themselves to like beat you to a door or car door to get it for you though lol.
I'd say english guys can get away with that really well in the US. I'm sure the girl would think "proper british gentleman, thats how they';re raised!" and she'd swoon for being treated like a princess by a foreign prince!
Ladies I give you the inside of Spence's brain.
/turns on Canadian accent
"Oh she's wants a bottle of wine eh? Well that'll cost her later, I better get a damn good kiss goodnight......Oh, you want fillet do you now eh? Yep That's some *** before I leave."
/Canadian voice off
Edit: For the record I typed that whole thing while speaking it aloud impersonating Spence and I'm 95% sure it's what he'd say.
Tbh, one my first dates with a guy i saw awhile back, I was like standing there like "WHAT IS THIS?!" like hella confused each time he did this, but he'd open the doors for me, going in and out of both restaurants and the car, and he'd pull the seat out for me, let me walk ahead, paid for dinner, etc.
It was weird as hell, I never really got used to it.
But I don't like people spending money on me, so gifts much less dinner usually doesn't happen, and I act more boyish so i just walk ahead and do everything myself, and question people who try to help xD

That's the reason why i don't really like anyone trying to pay anything for me <,<
This is a thread that I found on another website I post at. It can be really really interesting. I thought it deserved a place here.
Post your random thoughts for the day here, or anything else that intrigues you.
For starters, is it possible to give constructive critism to someone who doesn't have a neck? I totally just walked by a girl who didn't. Someone isn't getting a necklace for Valentines day!
And who decided black and white can't be colors? I want to say a racist. I really do.
