Not sure if you're still here, but yes, transfering servers while being a linkshell leader will break the shell regardless of whether the LS does or does not exist in the migrated server. I once got a really strange glitch where my LS stayed in tact and I got the LS message of the pre-existing owner from many years back. >.>
