I believe you only get one piece of carry on these days.

Thanks for the tips, guys. :D I will remember them! Chew gum, be prepared for roller-coaster tummy at takeoff, stuff anything I am worried about for carry-on in my suitcase. This will be so exciting!

She's got plenty of time to forget it, besides she doesn't exactly seem nervous to fly to begin with..
My fear of planes is a combined fact of I do NOT like having my life in someone else's hands (I can't run into the cockpit and say GTFO to the pilot if I feel he's doing a ***job, nor can I just jump out/force him to slam on the breaks to get out) and my fear of heights.. I'm not actually afraid of small heights, but once it gets more than 50 or so feet, I start developing a real fear of heights.

I stopped over in philly one time on my way to D.C. and the plane I was transferred too was on the complete opposite side of the airport and I didn't have a lot of time to get to it. luckily I made it in time. That's happened to me before as well. We were last on, and they were waiting for us because our transfer was late. I have two transfers. 55 minute layover for just one of them.. I need to check the second one. It's all about being on time.. 2 transfers is brutal! Flying is supposed to get you there quicker... are you travelling really far from home?
Washington to Iowa. Transfers in Arizona & Chicago.

Oh no, I meant that people are always saying "more people die in car wrecks every year than they do in plane crashes" to which my thought is "yeah, but in a car wreck you're not falling from 10,000 feet" as in.. Your death is nearly certain when falling from 10,000 feet, when you slam into a wall at 60+mph, there's a good chance you're going to live.
Statisticly flying may be 'safer' but when you compare car wreck to plane wreck, well.. I'd much rather be in a car wreck (in fact I've already been in 2, one that ended up flipping the car 2 1/2 times).

Haha.. Thanks for the offer but if it possible I'd just move with him! But, still another year left of school for my BA. Not that he's offered, he doesn't get to offer.

I drove through Iowa once...I didn't even notice I had left Missouri and entered Iowa for an hour....it was all the same. Corn, soy and nothing. Missouri...Misery....sound similar to anyone else?

Well yeah but we aren't talking about living we are talking about deaths... if you want to bring that up you'd need to bring up all the other non fatal crashes which just becomes a rediculous comparison. Alot things are almost always fatal when ***goes wrong doesn't mean you should be more afraid of them.
Sure I'd rather be in a car wreck than a plane wreck. But it isn't a question of which worst case scenario you'd rather be in. I'd rather be in no wreck

Yeah lots of snow. Most of the last 8-10 hours of that was in below 0 conditions...
