Best Job?

A complex question to say the least, simply because of what we can be talking about, dmg output, soloing, the necessity of having a healer, whats the mob etc...
But, if you had to decide which job would be the best to take to 90 (99, whatever), taking these things into account what would you say comes out with the most pros? For example consider a graph, a questionnaire of scale, 1 -10, one category is DMG output over speicified amount of time, one is the ability to Solo on a scale of 1 - 10 (which would most likely rest on the amount of mobs the job can take on as opposed to which can take on the least)
Of these categories, what job would you say comes out with the most points?

Not complex at all.
Monk and White Mage. Everything else is insulation.
I suppose if you need all 3 primary roles filled, Bard as well.

If you want a job that covers all categories (@Zicdeh I think he meant solo) I'd go with BLU. Can be played any way you need it and easily able to keep up with any specialised job if you play it right. It's easily the most versatile job in the game.

Given Abyssea :
Monk & White Mage
Given anything non-abyssea...
yeah still Monk & White Mage
New content might a reason for the balance to change and it's not that in certain situations some things might benefit more. But in the be all end all when your questionnaire is tallied I can't see anything coming out on top over these two either.
Edit : Yeah Blu is versatile, but frankly if you have anything else leveled in any sort of group play... odds are you'll be asked to bring that instead, can do... and can do compared to anything else that does i think it falls by the wayside and it's versatility doesn't make up for lack of specialization in group play.

Depends also if subjobs are taken into account.
Dancer too. If they got some form of Slow, it'd literally be the perfect job.

Well the fact that you need BLU for yellow trigger makes it necessary for any alliance inside abyssea, as well as low man farming. The fact that it can cover all bases as a job makes it even more useful. Not taking away from the fact that Chant du Cygne is insane to aid it in the DD category, its easy to keep up with any DD job. Guess you haven't seen a good one yet :s

Yea you're probably right, just been playing for four years and haven't seen one good player yet. Of course thats sarcasm, agreeing with you wouldn't even make plausible sense
Again, I'm not asking a job for lvling's sake as much as what people would argue, for example I like blm, but i do not think it wins in this category.

If you are a BLU then I am witnessing another idiotic fanboy.
INVEIT MI GUIZ, I COVERZ ALL BACES AND HAVE INSANE DD 2 BOOT!
You can be right, but I would never know it cause you don't give a reason outside of an insult and some sarcasm that doesn't even make sense as sarcasm as those would be all good things to have (Even if you say it in a sarcastic way for what you believe an idiot sounds like). Try again.

If there's anything I've proven through playing this game is that unorthodox jobs have the potential to be better than bandwagon jobs. And my opinion with how the game currently is is that blue mage is by a mile the job that fits the description of this thread, ignorant criticism aside. That's my answer for you.

See as much as people like to say lolPUP, its not really an argument, from what i remember having one in a pt back in the 75 bird days is that one out dmg'd everyone in my pt in reference to dmg output in a certain amount of time.
No I'm not saying this cause I have pup lvl'd, I don't even have the job unlocked.

Better than COR, PUP, BRD, and DRK.
BRD is only really useless if you have a MNK or WHM. I trio most things quite often and easily as BRD, SAM and WHM.
I mean they could do it SAM and WHM but it makes it far faster to kill ***.
BRD will always be useful as long as they have March. Not necessary maybe, but always useful.

Why whm instead of rdm?

I don't know about BLU being a bandwagon job, I'm yet to see any other BLU who's doing it right either (you're probably one of them, hence the criticism). Calling me a fanboy isn't going to make your argument any less stupid.

Ignorant fanboys aside, BLU is in fact a bandwagon job now.
BLU was always a bandwagon job.

I mentioned that back in the day to someone who I hope posts in this thread. How PUP was king on meripo birds and now I even like my THF more. I did not have that hierarchy chart in mind when I said that today, but it makes sense now.
Obviously lolpup is not an argument as well. We did not really need you to tell us that.
Maybe, your first post was a flame of the same sorts was it not? You never know whats necessary for people. Don't put your blow dryer in the bathtub warning, apparently, necessary.
