so you are saying thers a direct cause? the point im trying to make is this Similarity is politcally motivated agenda and nothing more and should not be brought into a discussion for an event as tradic as this. Would you really like to hear this nut job stand up in court and say "SP made me do it"

Would you really like to hear this nut job stand up in court and say "SP made me do it" For the N-teenth time; whether there is a link between the cause and effect is irrelevant. The tragedy stands on its own. However, it brings her little political ad into dire perspective due to similarity within her choice of symbolism and what happened in Arizona. Am I clear? I can't really explain it any more thoroughly. Pandemonium.Spicyryan said: (OMG CROSSHAIRS! Do I really need to spell it out? Bismarck.Elanabelle said: Phoenix.Kojo said: lol Pandemonium.Spicyryan said: Artemicion said: Because there's a similarity within her political ad and what happened. Crosshairs <-> Shooter, Location <-> political "target". Do I really need to spell it out? Spell it out, because I am about to. The cross hairs on Palin's chart does not mean anything significant at this time. I apologize for my lack of finger puppets for demonstration, but let me explain. When one uses crosshairs as a symbol, it is rather common and fair to assume a gun comes to mind. They go together like peanut butter and jelly (except for Flion >.>) Now, the purpose of Palin's ad which used these reticules was to essentially point out her political opponents and their location. Using the two together is rather reckless and disturbing as is. Now with the shooting, it brings it into perspective, especially since the person was shot with a gun (ie: crosshairs), and was in fact one of Palin's said and targeted opponents. Now this similarity is much to loose to make any direct accusations or links, and I acknowledge that. However, the fact remains that there is indeed resemblance, similarity, correlation, between her ad, and what had happened in Arizona. This isn't a finger pointing or blame game. It's more like something that came into light and sticks out like a sore thumb now. Phoenix.Darkdestroyer

Maybe it was just some nutjob that did it for shits & giggles, maybe it was a guy who lost a bet, maybe the congresswoman (name slips my mind) arranged it for some drastic publicity stunt. People are *** crazy, trying to figure things out can give you a headache. There doesn't have to be a reason for everything. For example, Why do I post odd, unrelated, and sometimes offensive ***? No reason.
Going to bed. 5 AM, insomnia sucks, and I said what I need to.
Was fun talking to you all, even if we seemed to misunderstand one another repetitively. Artemicion said: Going to bed. 5 AM, insomnia sucks, and I said what I need to. You saw crosshairs on a map where a shooting happened and refuse to think there is not a connection. It is simple as that. Sleep well. When the victim happens to be the same as one of her "targets" within that map. Yeah, I do see a connection. Could be a fluke, too early to say right now. But there is an alarming correlation nevertheless. Phoenix.Darkdestroyer

Its to connect with the type of people who vote for her Hunters ect. 2. crosshairs are used from a rifle, the gunman used a handgun never seen crosshairs from a handgun. I can't help but see this as grasping at straws :/ You're honestly going into firearm specifics between ones that have a scope and ones that don't? Don't you find it somewhat disturbing that the purpose of her map was to point out political opponents while using symbolism that is conducive to a weapon? Regardless of who it was made to appeal to, that's a dangerous thing to do. Crosshairs <-> Shooter, Location <-> political "target". Do I really need to spell it out? 1. Crosshairs are used in a scope, Pistols AND Rifles have 'iron sights' in most cases. 2. A scope can be installed on a rifle or a pistol. Asura.Bartimaeus said: Was there any ACTUAL connection or proof or whatever to the gunman and a political affiliation as of yet? Not yet. The general consensus is that he's batshit crazy though. But we already knew that. Ok First of all, look at what we have here...
Insane gunman is unstable and already has a record of making violent threats on the internet and making hate statements at political websites and talking physical threats. He's not mentally well, and very unbalanced. Obvious he's violent and overreading into things and not seeing the truth in all of it. Very clouded judgement. ...with Arizona( IMO, not sure if it is true and all) and seeing that Bristol went and moved to Arizona.. she has seen that it is obvious that the woman shot does represent the democrats but has "centre-ist" views.. that perhaps Palin thinks she can be swayed.... with this type of equation... and Palin have a weird sense of humor about "targeting" these ppl or Making sure that the ppl in mention are " in crosshairs" of her conquest to sway these ppl in question, doesn't this make for a BAD EQUATION for someone who is unstably ill? |
