Ok, managed to get the numbers looking right so they almost perfectly match what you got. Also a few things you didn't include/didn't know about.

dAGI/INT/whatever seems to cap at 1276 for this and sanguine blade, dunno about others but data matches for this and sanguine blade was tested by gobli.

92+509=601, not 611

Shinryu apparently has a MDB of about 70

And not sure about this, see reports of wildfire being 5.6 ftp but dunno for sure, numbers fit almost exactly with 5.6 though.

5.6*601 = 3365
1276+3365 = 4641

4641 * 1067 / 170 * 1.15 * 1.2 = 40198
4641 * 1012 / 170 * 1.3 * 1.15 * 1.2 * .7 = 34694

God even more coincidences to barely make ends meet... this is getting to be a huge stretch at this point you do see that right? Everytime I poke a hole in something a new factor at just the right amount jumps out to make things right again? Not to mention this is assuming closed wings which I've never seen it do

As far as 5.5 or 5.6 after first seeing this I went out and personally ran some test on lvl 0 mobs and it's definitely 5.5. I mostly did this cause lol wiki says 5.0. And no I didn't use gorget. Didn't have it yet anyways.

Gobli did some pretty decent testing on random trash mobs using sanguine blade which is where the values on dINT and MAB come from. There's also calculations on dmg on shinryu which perfectly match with actual results which were used to get the MDB values. So who's theory is more of a stretch?

I'll stick to my Occam's razor ideology.

Especially since all these numbers I'm getting that you keep coming up with one at a time are just from you really. If you'd like to link the source and actual test values...

Oh and if you didn't catch it before I've never seen it with it's wings closed not even sure what that looks like though according to wiki that it is ok to deal dmg then when it's doing stuff... though never seen that either. Everytime anyones every dealt dmg during a spell or ws it healed it lol

This is FFXI, nothing is ever as simple as it should be.

Edit: He also mentions that there seems to be other condition that can cause a seperate 30% dmg reduction. These two can also overlap (Full dmg, .7dmg, .7*.7=.49dmg) so it's possible to see WS's like sanguine that shouldn't change dmg actually change dmg. I'd have to look around to see if I could find a video with it or anything.

See this is why I hate studio gobli even with translate function I can't read ***on it so I basically have to take your word for the parts you did translate...

I'll probably end up playing around with it some more... at least use it one something real fun see if the numbers come out. But according to that I should be able to hit over 100k pretty easily with the 2 +fire dmg atmas and griffons claw on a normal mob. Be fun to do on a qutrub... too bad it would die from that instantly cause I'd love to see what the skillchain dmg on that would be lol.

Also what does Gobli say about dint caps for nukes?

I highly doubt any general translator could hope to translate video game stuff, it's way too non standard and filled with abbreviations and what not, lol.

And seriously, how is taking my word any different than me taking your word on how much dmg you did against shinryu, not like I'm sitting here trying to figure out how to screw you over or something.

Only looked around briefly but found this video where you can see his 300% earth crusher doing less than it did at the middle of the fight so there definitely seems to be some sort of dmg reduction going on there somewhere. Would have to look more to see if I could find someone using sanguine or something since that's not affected by tp.

Mmm, as far as I can tell, he doesn't have blm/rdm/sch levelled or just doesn't care about them. He did one shot shinryu with charged whisker and the calcs ALMOST match up using that same 1276 cap and this weird +65 that he noticed when testing pinecone bomb.

((90+2+424x2+65)x4.5+1276)x1.15x(1000+50+25+20+19)/(170-10)x1.6=74268
vs. actual dmg of 9241 aka 74777

Haven't gotten to play with shinryu again... but been playing with mandies and wildfire.

53733 without and with -int and no MAB in gear/traits. So yep definitely a dstat cap.

55828 with 39 MAB.

53733/1000*1039=55828 so yep seems to be +900MAB.


And full calc comes out spot on with 5.5 ftp.
