Thanks, and sorry, one more question. For TP building, what would be the ideal pieces for the neck/back slots now? And would that change depending on whether inside or outside Abyssea?

Since it was brought up, I just did a quick test on the Athos set. Unfortunately, the results were quite disappointing.

First 2 pieces = 3% crit rate
Every piece after = 1% crit rate

Possible that I'm missing something simple or whatever, like there's some kind of rounding for crit rate that I don't know about or that crit rate merits aren't exactly 1%, but with two pieces of Athos I did not cap crit rate @ 96% crit rate, and with three pieces of Athos I did not cap crit rate @ 95% crit rate; I did cap crit rate with three pieces of Athos @ 96% crit rate and I did cap crit rate with two pieces of Athos @ 97% crit rate.

Hrm~ Only 2%? I thought I had somewhere that it was more, sorry for that then. So body hands and feet as a set generally are the best but only together. Can anyone who does have more than 2 pieces confirm the %+ of the crit hit?
I guess I wasn't clear. Hands only if you're getting a large amount of critrate out of the DEX. Especially given what Prothescar just posted.

Still Rancor/Atheling as far as I know, I can double check that and look at secondary (non-Rancor) options tomorrow.

Many thanks. So from this, you shuld not want to stack more than +50 dex above your natural stat assmuming most monster are close to your level or slightly above?

Only if you assume all monsters have the exact same stat growth as your specific race, which isn't true. It should be somewhat close for mobs no higher than EM-T though given NIN's high AGI, unless you're Elvaan. VT+ and NMs would be a different story.

I recently experimented with augmenting my Seiryu's Kote and Byakko's Haidate. At first glance, the augments that I believed would make the most significant damage in my Hi build were crit rate on kote and crit damage + on haidate. I was able to get +3 rate on hands and +4% on haidate.

Do you think it's worth throwing 70k-100k a pop at further augments (agi/crit rate on haidate, attack on kote) or are these the main reasons for the augmented gear being better than other alternatives?

You're paying in some fashion either way, so that doesn't really answer the question.

The good news is that the augments you're looking for are both fairly common, and as such you can reasonably expect to get both stats in some quantity without throwing too much time/gil at them. The bad news is that STP is the forced HQ augment on both so you can only get that set of augments on HQ3s and even then you'll need a little luck. Thus, quality of augment may require a little more time.

Ok. So better than this requires HQ3 AND some luck. I should be thankful that I have a quality augment to work with while I farm/buy further tatters, correct?

Pretty much imo. Don't sweat further improvements too much, but they're a good thing to work towards.

If legion or a revamp of Nyzul were to add augmentability to salvage gear, I think it would require some pretty crazy augments to usu gear to beat out augmented sky, iga +2, shura +1 (with good augments). Would you agree? {edit: for blade: Hi}

For tp, would you agree it seems possible for the feet (anything) and body (DW > 5)? {edit: in high crit rate scenarios}

STR Arisui, Hope Torque + Rancor Mantle, augmented Byakko's Haidate, Stormsoul Ring (over Rajas), att+4/TP Bonus+25 TP Bonus Moonshade Earring, potentially Ocelomeh Headpiece +1 depending on the quality of your Shura augments, and that's just getting into a general use set.

I already have my STR Arisui completed, though I have seen an increasing amount of NINs wearing the Double Attack +11 Majimun. How does that fare against the Arisui?

Well, the two Rancor items don't stack. So it's 6 attack 3 DA vs 7 attack 6-7 acc and 5 AGI (~2.5 WSC), and DA is pretty severely depreciated due to Hi's high http://fTP.

Arisui is superior.

Just a genereal nin question here, but is kannagi/tobi needed for low manning empy nms? I really want ukon and twash and the most realistic way of getting them is nin plus random shout groups, but I need to know if I should make a kannagi first? Would 2 str katanas work? Eva is practically capped, had it capped at dnc 99 before ever playing nin so just a few levels off so no need for Eva katanas.

You never need a Emp to farm other Emps lol now having a Kannagi would speed up the kill but not needed in order to make a Ukon/Twash

I just meant for low (2 or 3) manning them if it would greatly improve efficiency, enough so that it would warrant the 50 helms and skins.

Have we had this discussion before? total feels like we have... dejavu..

anyways in the time it will take you to low man a emp for other emps... you can obtain the other emps... either way you will low man an emp without and emp xD

Kannagi just increases your dmg by a lot. if the nin has blade shun (i think its best ws outside HI) then that will close the gap. kannagi does nothing but shorten the fights.

Edit: which is good in situations were mp is an issue.. but in abyssea its really not an issue. so its not "Needed" but it will certainly help
