Blade: Hi WS Set.

Hey guys, what's the best katana to use for Blade: Hi?

Level 90 Kannagi obviously :P

Just recently got Kannagi myself and was wondering is my gear decent enough? lol Got it day of 2 week maintenance. Didnt even get to play with it too =(. lol
Here is my WS set for blade:hi and then tp set.

Blade:hi set

TP/haste set

WS: Anguinus in attack uncapped (depends).

TP: Rajas, Suppanomimi instead of Iga, cba to run numbers on mixed set vs full af3+2 at this time of night but might be imperfect.

Mixed ftw! btw should offhand Kamome, inside Abyssea anyway.

Edit: WS set looks good. If you can, look into getting Salade tho.

Personally for tp I'd go Suppa/Iga, Epona's/Raja. For body I'd go +1 AF, I think the set bonus for the AF3+2 isn't as high as you could be with just AF body.

As far as the WS the only thing I might sub in would be Aesir earring, Dark Gorget, and Shadow Belt. Could also tinker with it when we go live again with more attack in some places to max out the damage.

I got 85 Masamune the day the servers went down so that's also what I'm doin. Congrats btw!! =)

Depending on what Atmas you're using, Salade will have little to no return, iirc. Double check with Nightfyre.

I agree with the Kamome statement. That's a 10% increase in Crit. Hit damage.

Also, why do you only WS in Atheling?

Are you aware that Iga Mimikazari is only DW+1%?

What would be the optimal augments for it to be? I have WS DMG + Crit Hit DMG on mine for THF and DNC.

She is using the att+10 earring on ws why would you change that to Aesir? Unless you thought it was suppa or something.

AGI+6 WSDMG+2 inside Abyssea, since critdmg will be capped. Outside Abyssea STR+4/AGI+4 or DEX+4/AGI+4 depending on dDEX, likely the latter. DEX/AGI is still better than non-MKD alternatives inside Abyssea.

I used kannagi/sekka+2 outside abyssea and kannagi/kagome inside abyssea. I play with kannagi/enchu+1 when I wanna spamm Blade:HIs lol.

The katana your talking about is from Fleshflayer Killakriq in aby-grauberg and it drops Oirandori katana. And yes thats a sexy looking katana as well lol. may have to get that one too. kannagi/Oirandori

Sekka+2 for tanking NM's but DD'ing i go with Komome.

This is my current abyssea set:

Anwig has Agi4/Dex4 ws2%/crit2% augment. I pretty much full time kamome inside abyssea and swap between sekka+2/hocho outside. This set seems to give me the most consistant ws numbers that i've sampled.

Current non-abyssea set:
I'm still tweeking this set and I am constantly swapping things in/out. Anyone have good parse numbers comparing loki's v/s iga body?

Its hard to say what works and what doesnt since idk what exactly outside of abyssea you do, therefore the mobs stats Idk. When new content comes out, youll have to add in more dex to hit your ddex. So adding in byakkos,iga mantle,rajas will help you. Anguinus belt is better than ele anytime attack is relevant.

Also iga body+2 is way better than loki for ws outside of abyssea.

note: acc may become an issue again later on , on the way to 99, 4str/15wsacc/2%ws dmg might prove to be better if so, vs the crit dmg one.

I'm showing that iga body does on average 100 points higher than loki's on greater colibri. This is according to the damage comparator by brimstone and masamunai.

This is of course outside abyssea mind you.

Eh, I'm still working Loki's out as > Iga (obviously Iga wins if pdif is epic low), even assuming pdif is uncapped. Haven't factored accuracy into it, but currently outside abyssea it's not really an issue

Rather than start a completely new thread while WS are being discussed here... I'm almost to point where my nin can finally Abyss, and I was looking for a particularly decent Jin set up (particularly one that doesn't require sky/dynamis gear.)



I was considering this for the most part, and taking out Osode for Hauby or Kaftan, but wasn't entirely sure. Maybe triumph for centaurus as well, atma set up was considered to be either VV/RR/apoc or GH/RR/apoc.

-After I do get sky, is Byakko's worth investing in, or do the atk on trunks top it?
-Should I rep the belt with something with more atk or wsc, like warwolf/anguinus?
-Should I swap out the head for something like AF3+2 head?

After reading this thread for a while and doing some research on my own, I have noticed that people have a tendency to use loki's kaftan, inside abyssea of course. Which is great until you have iga ningi+2. Mathematically why would loki's kaftan be better than iga ningi+2 unless you have a capped critical hit rate in general?

Regardless of what the answer to that question is, is there some reason that a set like this could not be used in its place given:
head augment: agi/dex+4 crit dmg+2% ws dmg+2%
leg augment: crit dmg+3% DA+2%



I could either be missing something simple and over-complicating things or people just have other uses for these peices.

Even if using that set is possible, is it better? Can it still be enhanced?

I am open for thoughts if you could give it a few moments of time.

Loki's: 90WSC > 159, 5.0ftp, 1.6 pdif
1319 no crit
2219 w/ 2x crit
1938 1 crit
1585 average

Iga: 84 WSC > 153, 5.0ftp, 1.74 pdif
1331 no crit
2096 2 crits
1842 1 crit
1552 average

That's outside Abyssea, inside it's a simple answer. Crit DMG and Crit Rate diminish too, so the higher it is, the lower adding further increments returns to you, so with Atma, Crit rate is higher than Crit DMG, so there's less returns. Loki's will typically win unless crit rate is horribly low, or attack severely uncapped.

Edit: Also worth noting if there's +rate based on TP for the WS, Iga would lose further.

1. Your values are too high, when accounting for damage you forgot that WSC has a level multiplier, at 90 this happens to be .85. Also, since this is outside abyssea, there is no way you are capping fSTR as NIN on an agi based ws especially with loki's, meaning that fSTR would be 3 higher on the iga ningi+2 set. This would lower the damage to 140 w/ iga ningi+2 and 143 with loki's kaftan.
2. You dont account for iga ningi+2 being +23 attack due to the strength gain either.

Even with those differences in mind, I see your point inside abyssea. However, since it caps out at +50% and my set replaces that 5% lost by not using loki's elsewhere, would it not be better to use this set given the alternatives?

General consensus is that Iga +2 wins over anything else outside abyssea.
