I got selected, first time I "Won" something, lulz.
NDA says I can't tell you how awesome it is, and as Notch knows, Bethesda (Or at least their Legal division) likes to use their "Sue" button, so I won't tempt fate at telling you how awesome it is.
inb4 fried xbox.
So...how awesome is it?

I will continue to try to ignore any word about it until it is available for PS3 so I don't have a panic attack waiting like I did for the main title release.
I'm Criminal_Scum on the Bethesda Forums. It's probably going to seem Obvious now because of the Avatar I use there.
This isn't really Dawnguard Related, but I was playing with Mounted Combat that's included in 1.6. I'm surprised at how many people are "Unsatisfied" with that, I thought it's implemented really well. It's totally possible to play Calvaryman and *** over an entire legion of soldiers, as long as they aren't high-level archers or mages, takes some getting use to though. L Trigger attacks on your left, R trigger attacks on your Right.
i believe i speak for all of us when i say, congratulations you lucky ***.
try to root out the dialogue based bugs >.> had to erase like 5 hours on one character cause dialogue options got borked and i couldnt continue the civil war quest line
For anyone on PC who may care, I've reuploaded a small mod that I've made for Morrowind and Oblivion in the past with Skyrim-based adjustments that reworks most every one of the Daedric Artifacts to be slightly more powerful in addition to fixing a couple of bugs with them.
There's definitely going to be new gear and weapons, there always is with these DLC. I know Dragonbone Weapons will be coming into play, and there's definitely faction specific gear. I'm sure there will be some unique pieces to find in the DLC as well.
If you by no new gear you mean nothing that can come close to my dragon scale double enchanted armor than yeah.
If by weapons you mean nothing that can come close to my daedric double enchanted weapons than yeah.
What really makes me mad is when I pick up those awesome looking unique armor and weapons that you can't enchant. Then they go in my house looking pretty and doing nothing.
Here is how you fix the loot in this game. Make all quest armor and weapons enchantable and upgradeable via the smithy. Easy fix. Keeps questing viable and raising your enchanting and smithing to 100 still means something. Such an easy fix.
Gameplay restrictions: Can only use magic that is close to that of Witcher signs. Can only heal via natural regeneration and regeneration potions. Can only use potions before battle. Cannot do anything that a Witcher wouldn't do. Plow all the lilies.

I also like mounted combat, if you play in a jousting manner, sort of in and out attacking, it's extremely effective, especially so with a 2 hander. My only gripe with it is that we can't use magic on horseback...but Todd hinted at them eventually putting that in too. Most likely in a patch for Hearthfire. (I'm predicting the second DLC to be very magic related)
Most people complaining about it are complaining that it's not first person, but I think first person mounted combat would be really clunky and hard to use.

I think the reason they didn't allow for Mounted Magic use, is how far it breaks the game. Considering Magicka regenerates, a wizard could just trot around flinging fireballs (AOE 15FT) with impunity. At least with Melee, you need to get close, and Archery requires great skill to pull off, as well as having finite arrows.
Any word on Crossbows? Too lazy to back read and I only own Skyrim on PS3 so no beta. :<
Trying to think of what details I can say that wouldn't breech NDA. There's actually a lot out there on crossbows from E3 and the GI leaks that's now public. I'd rather just not tempt fate, but if you just search Youtube for "Dawnguard E3" you'll find pretty much everything you need. Anything with Matt Carafano is a good interview, plus he's got a really sweet shirt.
Just my Humble Opinion, but I don't think the Sanguine Rose needed rebalance, that thing is a daedra-launching siege engine. The only thing wrong with it is the Dremora stops popping if you take Atromancy I think... Or was it Twin souls.
Dawnbreaker was a disappointment though, I like what did to it.
Savior's Hide is another Daedric Artifact I felt was already strong enough too, given how easy it is to exploit smithing. Magic Resistance on a Body piece is totally unheard of, plus the Poison Resist, it's like the ultimate in Anti-Falmer apparel. Plus it's one of the few Daedric Artifacts available at level 1.

Well in the first Witcher you could use potions during battle :|
Ok I'm trying to play on pc with some creation kit packs and every time I load the game and select a save it exits out of skyrim, I've also tried starting a new game and it won't do that it just gets stuck on the emblem screen acting like it's going to do it :x halp prz?
Protip: Save often, especially before you enter a settlement or town at night. Vampires will attack and potentially kill NPC's. It's all well and good to see Vampire Attacks to lend legitimacy to the Dawnguard storyline, but when the Town Smith becomes breakfast for a Master Volkihar Lord, you can't help but reload anyway.
I tried to add some points to my account but apparantly microsoft doesn't want money from me.
Keeps telling me to activate my account on a new PC and tells me to enter a code they send to my email... which I haven't got (it's been about an hour now?)
Guess I'll just have to wait for the PC or PS3 one then, at least I know their payment system doesn't blow ***.
Or disable every plugin/script blocker before going to the site.
Sometimes when firefox and chrome fail to work on a site IE usually does, for me at least.
Nope, just tried it on IE no plugins or anything (other then it being a shitty browser that almost froze when I opened it?) it's stuck on not liking my computer and wanting me to authenticate it and wanting to send me a code to my alternate email (which I have open) I've clicked to resend the code like 60 times and nothing.
Not even going to try to call them since they'll give me the runaround and just *** at me since they think I owe them 35 bucks for fraudulent charges (they were still charging me for xbox gold even though I cancelled it 3 months prior)
You can buy a prepaid card from any major retailer. I think at least the U.S. cards come in nice even sums of 800P(10$) 1600p(20$) and 2400(30$). EU people get stuck with "Spare Change", basically overpaying and having not enough points to buy anything but stupid avatar props.
Bethesda Softworks just announced the fifth game in the Elder Scrolls series and the sequel to The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion will be called Skyrim. And it'll be out next year.
Bethesda's Todd Howard introduced the game with a brief teaser showing a stone dragon and a dramatic narration that sets up the story of the next big role-playing game in the Elder Scrolls series. That teaser also dates Skyrim for November 11, 2011.
I cannot bloody wait. I've always loved the Elder scrolls series since Daggerfall.
