This is a dream come true! I've always loved the model of the Nightingale Armor but hated how you were more or less stuck with the whole set and questionable enchantments to keep the look. If they made all armor models craftable and therefore improved by your smithing skill and customized via your own enchanting. It's swoon worthy. Artemicion said: » These hard crashes are really starting to piss me off. I notice they tend to occur upon encounters with enemies and when looking at my skill trees to add perks. Anyone else noticing a correlation or pattern in crashes or am I just unlucky? That is exactly what that does more-or-less. I don't think all armor sets are included yet, but the ones that are in it are fairly balanced crafting recipes (not any harder than any other armor). They actually turn out slightly stronger (armor rating wise) than the default sets thanks to the Legendary Smithing mod allowing you to actually "improve them twice as much" like the perk says. Mages practically one shot me now :/ Not sure if it's the magic resistance patch because I'm currently not wearing any magic or elemental resistance gear or benefits. But as far as lag and freezing goes, I notice the game hiccups really bad whenever I dual cast to initiate a fight. I died like four times in the basement of that brewery for the thieves guild quest, by that lunatic magic guy. I think I had to use 20 potions because two of his fireballs would kill me, it was so ridiculous lol Artemicion said: » These hard crashes are really starting to piss me off. I notice they tend to occur upon encounters with enemies and when looking at my skill trees to add perks. Anyone else noticing a correlation or pattern in crashes or am I just unlucky? The few crashes I have usually happen right after a fast-travel after playing around four to five hours and it's only a silent crash to desktop. Hopefully 1.3 will fix a lot of the crashes PS3/360 are having as it has for me. Oh Artemicion and Crystalchan, what system are you two on? edit~ Since 1.3, magic resistance is indeed fixed. I went from being almost instant killed by Ancient Dragon breath, to it only taking out 1/4th of my life. Perhaps the bug in magic resistance is your lack of "base" resistance. Because I notice that even though ice has diminishing returns in damage thanks to being Nord, they still hit me like a truck more than the initial release version did.
And don't get me started on fire or shock. Pretty much instantly dead if I don't get the advantage of power attacking a mage in a tight corner. Plus they move around so damned much >.< PS: On PS3 until I can have a respectable rig to do this game justice. I have a question:
Are there any pieces of hand / feet armor that you can put enhanced smithing on? i only have the ability to put it on body / ring / necklace. Fortify Smithing can be put on Neck, Body, Hands, Ring.
Fortify Alchemy can be put on Head, Neck, Hands, Ring. Not sure why you might not be able to put it on your hands. I used a set of fine clothes (fine hat, fine clothes, fine armguards) and a gold diamond necklace and ring for my smithing/alchemy gear. ah okie thanks. yeah sorry i do have it on hands meant just head and feet.
thanks Get a Falmer Helmet and a Circlet and you can have an extra 29% alchemy in gear for a 147% smithing potion lol. It's the only head gear that can be worn on top of another.
Edit: I guess it might work for bows too? Bahamut.Rulerofdarkness said: » kenshynofshiva said: » Bismarck.Dracondria said: » Nightingale set is easily the best looking imo. I refuse to use resist gear myself zero challenge if i cant be killed lol.... You can be killed, just not by a handful of trash minions. When I get in a room with at least 10+ minions I get hurt or fighting the bosses, but it's not anything "oh ***" worthy. Just pop a recovery potion and I'm good to go again.
Any tips for a starting up full on mage character? I'm level eight and I've pretty much put all my points into destruction stuff so far. I kill ***pretty easily and fast. But sometimes I run into problems. If I can't kite ***I get decimated if I run out of magicka.
What should be my split on health/magicka? I've put all into magicka so far except for maybe two which I put into health. Also is unarmored/robes the way to go? Seems like if I learned enchanting I'd be better off with heavy armor that has magic enchantments. Also, which other types of magic besides destruction should I worry about? I was thinking restoration or alteration, but those spells, at least right now, just sap too much into my magicka leaving me no room for the offensive. Especially things like Oakflesh or Lesser Ward. (And don't get me started on fighting things with magic resistance or whatever. Took me forever to kill a *** hagraven.) Anyway, any tips would be appreciated. I'm liking this character more than my last dual-wield swords balls to the wall hack n slash imperial babe, lol. Asura.Sandolphon said: » Any tips for a starting up full on mage character? 1. Abuse Impact, especially in 1v1 fights. 2. Take up Conjuration/Illusion for meat shields/crowd control. 3. Armor is preference, especially with abuse of Enchanting, but cloth is much easier to come by. 4. 2 Magicka to 1 Health seems standard, but that depends on you. I personally play a stealthy (not pure) Mage. Conjure a Bow and snipe, use Illusion for CC, and if that doesn't work, throw an Atronach at it and hide. I made a character that started out using Destruction in both hands, but as soon as more than one enemy got on me they'd beat me down.
I switched it up to a shield in the left hand, spell on the right, and it's made thing a ton easier. I'm not dishing out as much damage, but I can play a lot more defensively, using shield slams to interrupt their attacks, then blast with a spell. It works out great since you can spend up all your stamina on the shield slams Finally able to create a dragoon playthrough now!
Using that "spear" since it's the only one on nexus site, waiting for some better spears to come out, it's a replacment of the iron warhammer :/ I'll upgrade/enchant it then either use a better greatsword or battleaxe at later levels when fighting serious ***. Also have a permanent dragon pet now Used setscale to make it small like how I would prefer it, like an FFXI wyvern, but dragons weird out if you change their size that drastically, like wings and legs flailing around when moving. Guess a normal sized dragon pet will do. Mods used: Kains armor dragonscale retex Iron warhammer replaced as that spear Summonable dragons Ramuh.Urial said: » Quetzalcoatl.Crystalchan said: » Artemicion said: » Quetzalcoatl.Crystalchan said: » Artemicion said: » These hard crashes are really starting to piss me off. Game just became boring when my character was to close to god mode so backed it off much more fun and a challenge. walking up to a bad guy knowing he can't do ***is just boring. It's why I dropped my Daedric Armor on a mannequin. Asura.Sandolphon said: » Any tips for a starting up full on mage character? Don't forget the alteration perks Mage Armor and quiet casting are win win and of course dual casting with stagger. Lastly add in a conjuration or two as well as your tank. Without em you almost feel like going melee style again. By far at later levels pure mage is the hardest and pure sneak/archer assassin is the easiest style of play in my book. That's without all the exploits lol cause with them any toon is god mode easily. kenshynofshiva said: » Asura.Sandolphon said: » Any tips for a starting up full on mage character?
