lol your hard drive will work fine unless you damaged it's platters and if it says you have x amount of space left, you do have that much space left, this isn't like using fat32.

If its HD space it may only be PS2 users. However considering a few things. one is PS3 users have less space, unless the "Game Partition" is a dramatically expanding Image. The PS3s game partition is only 20gb when made.
Another thing is, Assuming The patched files are never deleted when updated. thus consuming more HD space then originally intended. One more thing could be the PS2s low ram, it only has like 64MB, the remaining space may be needed as swap space for the PS2 version, and thus wont allow some of the space to be used.
Edit: ment PS3 users not PS2 on HD size Game Partition thing from what I just read it only has 32, and 4 for video, that's much lower than I thought it was...however it's data transfer rate is pretty damn high, but you're right the caching on the hdd could be part of it.

ahh, your right, it is 32 (I was thinking it was as strong as a Original Xbox). But either way I think that might be part of the issue.

no the failbox 1 came out like 2 years after the ps2 (ish, not sure the exact dates, nor care to look them up)
idk, I think some people may just have too much ***on their hdd, or it's a glitch from SE. (pure speculation)

It is definitely a glitch from S-E.

One year almost 2
PS2 March 2000 (Jp date)
Xbox Novemeber 2001 (NA date)
It may be a bug, I'm installing files on my PS3 now. It seems to be working fine for me atm.

So you guys with the glitch have gotten the error message after the file check but before the download? I'm currently in the download on my PS2. I'm at 29% with 1:55 left for time. Anyone out there on PS2 download successfully?

On BG someone has said they got ahold of SE and they supposedly said they are aware of the problem and to check playonline website for any updates on the problem.

yeah, and to be honest if they had built the failbox360 as well as they built the first one I'd give them a lot more respect (idk of any issues short of the ones that were catching on fire) but the 360 is just beyond epic failure, it's failure to the point the ones responsible should be killing themselves after they resign (insert Virtual Boy(and original Game Boy) creator died in a car crash after resigning iirc here) (one great thing doesn't make up for that epic fail)
