I'm lazy. As long as I don't eat out, it's usually a matter of portion.
When I say "quality meals," to me it just means I didn't buy it and eat/heat it up.
Dumb right?
If you're a better cook then you can probably make fried chicken from scratch and still have stuck by my standard. The truth is that I'm a terrible cook so the above forces me to pay attention to anything I make and stick to simple things.
As to portion, my reasoning is 1 plate that has some carb, protein, and vegetables. I want to be hungry again in 4-6 hours so no second plates.
Again, what works for me may/may not work for anyone else.
I'm inclined to believe that if you consider it a diet, it won't work for you. So you have to find what works for you.
There is a cyclical relationship for me.
Go to the Gym ====> Feel Good =====> Eat things that make me feel good about the time I spend in the gym ====> Feel good ====> Go to the Gym.
I think it all starts in the gym though. Without that, I can't get in a good pattern at all.
In my case, the benefits for my body pale in comparison to what it does for my mood. If I skip the gym, I get topic banned around here....
